Alex stood in the familiar forest, the same tranquil setting where he had frozen time before.
The world was just as he had left it, silent, unmoving. But now, with a shift of his mind, time began to flow again.
The birds resumed their songs, and the gentle breeze swayed the trees.
It was almost as if the forest welcomed his return, as though it, too, had been waiting for him to rejoin the natural flow of things.
Alex took a deep breath, feeling a sense of peace settle over him.
His time in the Harry Potter world had been incredibly productive, and he was pleased with the progress he'd made.
His ventures there had given him new insights on how to utilize his energy better and expand his magical knowledge.
With a thought, Alex adjusted his state, mentally syncing with the moment he had left. The energy he had absorbed from his adventures lingered in his body, and with practiced ease, he began to tend to the bear he had hunted earlier.
His mastery over energy made this process much easier now. He skinned the animal, efficiently separating the meat from the bones, and worked with careful precision.
His hands moved methodically, adding small blade cuts here and there to ensure Uncle Clyde wouldn't suspect anything unusual about the carcass.
Once the meat was properly prepared, Alex placed it into a game bag. His ring glowed briefly, and with a simple thought, he stored the food in a section of Mín Heimr where time was frozen, ensuring it would be preserved in its freshest state until he needed it.
Alex planned to camp in the forest for the night, it had been a long time since he camped alone. He set off deeper into the woods, carefully navigating the familiar terrain until he found a good spot to set up camp.
As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, he retrieved his camping gear and began the process of setting up his tent.
Alex spotted a large, dead standing tree in the distance. With a wave of his hand, golden energy shot out, cutting the tree down.
With his control, it hovered closer to the camp and, with another thought, turned into smaller pieces of split logs. The wood then arranged itself neatly before igniting with a flick of his energy.
He prepared some cooking utensils and seasonings he had brought, then retrieved a bear tenderloin he had separated earlier and began seasoning it.
The pan hovered over the fire as the sound of searing meat filled the quiet night.
Lily's voice echoed in his mind. [Isn't using a fire spell better and more efficient?]
Alex smirked, reclining against a tree trunk. "That's true, but the light from the spell is cold." He gazed at the flickering flames, their warmth mingling with the cool night air, the smell of burning wood filling the clearing. "I prefer a fire that actually feels like one."
[You can also modify it,] Lily added, her tone playful.
"Maybe next time, when there's no wood to burn," Alex replied as he pan-fried the bear meat over the fire.
Lily chuckled, though there was a note of curiosity in her voice. [What do you plan to do? You've got a lot of free time still.]
Alex leaned back, his eyes glinting with excitement as he looked up at the stars. "I plan on finishing up Mín Heimr," he said casually. "I've been thinking about adding a massive landmass to the center, maybe making the black hole into a gravity device for my floating island."
Alex forked a piece of bear meat into his mouth, savoring the wild flavor.
Lily's tone shifted slightly, intrigued. [That huge? What are you going to put in there?]
Alex chewed and swallowed his food before answering. "Creatures. Magical and non-magical animals and plants. I don't plan on introducing sentient beings for the time being," Alex explained. "Maybe someday. But for now, I just want to create a space where magical life can thrive."
He smiled, almost as if it were no more complicated than building a dollhouse. "It'll be like a world of its own, but flat and not the typical round planet."
The night deepened, and the firelight danced across his face as they continued to talk, discussing everything from magical creatures to the intricacies of dimensional manipulation.
The sky began to brighten with the first hints of dawn, Alex packed up his gear into his ring and headed back to the ranch.
As Alex neared the ranch, he took out his backpack and gear from his ring, along with the bear meat he had prepared earlier.
Carefully, he piled everything into his bag, tied it securely, and slung it over his back. Carrying such a heavy load was effortless for him, but he knew it would appear shocking to others.
He chuckled to himself, confident that Uncle Clyde would likely just shrug it off, attributing it to Alex's "well-developed" physique.
The morning sun cast a warm glow over the ranch as Alex approached the house. From the kitchen window, Aunt Helen spotted him and greeted him with a cheerful wave. "Good morning, Alex! That's quite a load you're carrying!"
"Morning, Aunt Helen," Alex replied, setting his gear down near the door. He carefully brought the game bag containing the bear meat into the kitchen.
"What a haul, Alex," Aunt Helen said, eyeing the bag with admiration. "Did you hunt a huge boar?"
"Yes, it was huge," Alex answered casually. "Luckily, I ran into some guys who were hunting as well. They helped me out a bit."
"Well, you did a great job carrying all that back," Aunt Helen said, giving him a proud pat on the back. "You must be tired. Sit down, and I'll finish up breakfast for everyone."
"Thanks, Aunt Helen," Alex said with a grateful smile as he took a seat at the kitchen table.
Not long after, Clyde entered the kitchen, his eyes widening at the sight of the large haul. "Wow, Alex! You really outdid yourself this time," Clyde said, shaking his head in amazement.
Aunt Helen had already started cooking some of the bear meat, and soon the delicious aroma of a hearty breakfast filled the kitchen.
Plates of freshly cooked meat, eggs, and toast were placed on the table, and the family sat down together to eat.
They chatted casually as Alex recounted his encounter in the forest, weaving in just enough detail to make it sound believable. Aunt Helen and Uncle Clyde listened attentively, while Clyde sometimes added his own experiences.
