Lyov poured a cup of coffee and sat on her other side. "Mmm. Yes. Just what I needed."
Isabelle arched a brow, looking over at her knightly smile, struggling to suppress the smile that wanted to form. "Coffee so late?"
He gave a dry laugh and shook his head, his pretty green eyes twinkling as he took another sip of the drink.. "It'll take more than coffee to stop me from sleeping when I decide to sleep."
Somehow, ridiculous and backward as that particular flex of his was...she found herself believing it was likely true.

She nodded slowly and reached up to stroke her husband's jaw, tracing her fingertip over the surprisingly soft, smooth skin there. Even up close and cooped up so long in warehouses, she wasn't likely to recognize the difference without being told.
He was just a pretty now as then.
