98.59% I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic) / Chapter 421: Chapter 421 Divine Script

章節 421: Chapter 421 Divine Script

It was quiet and silent inside the tomb, but outside, it was raining heavily.

At the mountains and forests in the distance.

There were nine figures of varying shapes and sizes standing here. They are the core members of the Erimo Bandit Group.

Their gazes pierced through the sheets of rain, fixed on the brightly lit tents and shelters in the distance.

One of them cupped his right hand around his eyes, staring at the lights in the distance. Clicking his tongue, he said, "Tsk, it's heavily guarded... It looks like they have dug up something incredible."

"What good stuff could it be? Why don't we strike now?"

One of them asked eagerly, almost unable to hold back.

"What's the hurry?"

A slightly hoarse voice said, "We can wait until those people dig out all the goodies for us. They're free labor. Appreciate it, you idiots."

"Delay could lead to complications."

Another one cautioned.

However, most of the group was unconcerned.

The army stationed at the excavation site had enough firepower and manpower to take over a city, but these people are confident they could wipe them out without a direct confrontation.

Compared to this, they are more concerned about the possible presence of Nen Users in the army, particularly Heram, the Nen Exorcist renowned for uncovering numerous ruins for Luluci.

Since Luluci has deployed heavy troops to guard this excavation, then Heram is definitely at the excavation site.

"We can wait and see how things develop, but it is also necessary to make some preparations first."

Amidst the wind and rain, a calm, unhurried voice aroused the thoughts of everyone present, causing everyone to look at the owner of the voice involuntarily.

The reason is no other than-

The person who spoke was Miro Laux, the founder of the Erimo Bandit Group, the undisputed alpha wolf leading the pack.

"Now that I'm here..."

Miro slowly glanced at everyone present, a chilling smile appeared on his handsome face: "Then you should all understand one thing- I do not tolerate failure."

"…"

As the lightning flashed by, everyone bowed their heads towards Miro, signaling their understanding.

On a muddy path…

Moses, Shizuku, and Menchi walked side by side, wearing raincoats as they braved the downpour.

In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, Moses had chosen to disembark in a town nearest to the restricted Taro Region and proceed on foot.

Walking in the rain wasn't much of an issue for Nen Users.

Despite the muddy terrain, the trio moved swiftly.

As they passed a small trail, Moses suddenly stopped, catching the attention of Shizuku and Menchi.

"Something's here."

Moses looked towards a patch of tall grass by the side of the trail, where several moss-covered stones lay in a messy pile.

Following Moses's gaze, Shizuku and Menchi also looked at the stones, but they didn't notice anything unusual.

Given their trust in Moses, they even channeled Nen to their eyes to enhance their perception, but still found nothing.

Moses, however, walked straight up to the stones.

It wasn't the Nen or any aura that made him notice the stones, nor was it a sense of danger. Rather...

He could feel an extremely faint sense of presence emanating from the stones.

A sense of existence created by things like breathing, heartbeat, and magnetic field.

Surprised, Moses squatted down, switching the flashlight to his left hand. He then reached out with his right hand to brush away the moss covering the stones.

As the moss fell away, a series of straight, circuit-like patterns were revealed on the stone's surface.

"Hmm?"

A flicker of intrigue passed through Moses's eyes.

Shizuku leaned in curiously and asked, "What is that?"

"Divine Script."

Moses replied and shone the flashlight towards the stone covered with the Divine Script.

Initially, Moses thought these Divine Script might have ancient origins, but upon closer inspection, he realized the engravings were quite new… It's completely different from the Divine Script he had seen in the unknown ruins last time.

'These Divine Script could have been carved just a few years ago, or perhaps even as long as a decade ago.'

'Then-'

'Who had engraved these Divine Script here?'

'And what purpose did they serve?

'It can't be that this was left behind by some bored guy who is well versed in Divine Script, right?'

Moses was very confused.

In the original work, Divine Script appeared in various places, but wasn't explored in great detail.

It wasn't until the Greed Island arc that its true potential was revealed. It is an ability that can be used to assist and enhance the effects of Nen Abilities.

For instance, the box left by Ging for Gon that could only be opened with Nen was also inscribed with many Divine Script inside.

It can be seen from this that-

Divine Script not only enhances Nen Abilities but can also seal Nen effects into objects marked with it, regardless of distance.

It's highly likely that the entire framework of the Greed Island game, created by Ging and his companions, relied on the power of Divine Script.

Yet outside of this, the presence of Divine Script in the original work was quite limited.

This technique, like En, is difficult to master, and its practical value in combat wasn't high.

As a result-

Most Nen Users wouldn't invest time or energy in perfecting En, let alone waste their lives mastering something even more complex like Divine Script.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Divine Script remained so obscure in the original work.

Of course, the possibility of 'too few learning channels' cannot be ruled out.

But despite its obscurity, Ging mastered it effortlessly, turning it into a highly valuable technique.

Moses was also quite interested in Divine Script.

After all, during that ruin expedition in the Hunter Exam, he had personally experienced the wonders of Divine Script.

However, due to the lack of opportunities to learn it, he hadn't had the chance to delve deeper into the subject.

If he could study and master Divine Script...

He'd be willing to spend years on it.

"Master."

Menchi was also studying the Divine Script on the stones. Then, she quietly remarked, "These doodle-like patterns are just like the ones we saw at that ruin last time. Back then, it seemed like those symbols triggered the ability that transported us inside the ruin, right?"

"Mm."

Moses nodded.

Although it was the Post-Mortem Nen that activated the power of the Divine Script in the ruins, regular Nen could also serve as the trigger to activate Divine Script's powers.

In other words-

As long as Moses focus his Nen on the Divine Script on these stones, perhaps he will be able to stimulate an unknown ability.

Moses was very curious about the origin of the Divine Script on these stones.

But recalling the events of that ruin expedition, Moses restrained himself from impulsively pouring Nen into the Divine Script on these stones.

At this moment, he was more intrigued by his newfound ability to sense the presence of the Divine Script.

'Does this mean...'

'I have a natural affinity for Divine Script?'
