Marcus spent the entire day at school feeling confused and distraught. The nagging suspicion that Alina was hiding something from him gnawed at his thoughts. He wondered if she didn't trust him completely.

During lunch, they headed to the cafeteria. Marcus remained quiet, picking at his food. Alina noticed his unusual silence and furrowed her brows in concern.

"Marcus, what's wrong? Did I do something?" Alina asked, her voice laced with worry. "You've been acting strange since we talked to Kendra."

Marcus sighed, his eyes downcast. "I don't get it, Alina. Is it that you still don't trust me?"

Her heart sank. "Why would you say that? I trust you," she insisted, her voice earnest.

He looked up, a hint of frustration in his eyes. "It doesn't feel that way. I think you're still keeping secrets from me."

Alina bit her lip, a sad expression crossing her face. "What do you mean?"
