章節 10: Adventurer's Guild
"Freedom at last!"
As the group walked outside they saw a bustling city. Arthur was taking things one at a time because this was his first time in two weeks since he got here that he saw anything else outside the Colosseum of Guilt.
"Sir Joseph, where do we go first?"
"We shall go to the outskirts of the city." The 5 female slaves were all still very lifeless and eyes that look dead. These 5 slaves were obeying every word to the letter that Arthur spoke. No matter the order they have to do it as they were being forced to by the slave seal.
"Yes, master." Their replies were cold as they didn't have the will to live anymore. From being tortured endlessly day after day and being healed, later on, being abused in a lot of ways and being treated as objects by their previous masters. They thought that this was what would happen to them again so they just have up.
Along the way, even though their faces were still a bit dirty there were a lot of whistles coming from nearby men and even one spoke up, "Hehehe! Ladies, I am pretty sure me and my friends can satisfy you more than that kid and old man! Well, what do you say ladies?" The slaves didn't reply.
Grinding his teeth Arthur clenched his fists as he shouted, "Back off!"
The man wasn't happy with Arthur's reply and shouted back, "Brat! How dare you shout at an elder huh? Disrespectful kid! Now screw off and leave the ladies with us to have some fun."
Arthur's eyes were filled with murderous intent as he glared at the man and his friends. Joseph interrupted the argument, "You have no right to do so as this young man is the master of these 5 girls."
The man's eyes widened when he heard what the old man had said. How could a man so young be a master of all these slaves unless he was from a royal family but seeing the tattered clothes of the kid it wasn't the case. However, there were cases where royals would disguise themselves as commoners and act all innocent to play with others. Thinking up to here, the man decided not to risk it at all.
"A slave seal, huh? Fine, I'll stop bothering you, c'mon guys we're leaving!" The man took off along with his companions. Arthur was quite surprised as with their attitude he thought that the man would fight him.
Joseph explained to Arthur that people who have slaves either are from royalty or are extremely rich.
"These men just didn't want to offend someone that could afford slaves."
Arthur nodded as he understood what had happened. They then continued on to the outskirts of town. The journey on the way still had a couple of people whisper but upon seeing the slave seal on the girls they immediately ran.
"We're here... now see that building that's broken down? That's our destination, it's where my friend can help the girls have the will to live once more."
The building looked extremely generic as far as buildings go in the city. It was crumbling and full of holes looking as if it would be broken down with a single tap. Arthur and company entered the old building.
Opening the door there was a bell sound. Out of nowhere, a middle-aged man came rushing saying, "Welcome to my shop, my name is Rob and--" shock filled Rob's eyes as he fell down on the ground after seeing Joseph.
"Joseph! How... I thought they killed you when you were taken instead because of my request! SORRY! SORRY! I AM SO SORRY! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!" Tears started to flow on Rob's face as he kept on apologizing to Joseph.
Apparently, the quest to kill the bandits were Rob's quest. He was getting threatened to pay protection fees and would be killed if he didn't pay. Rob then sent out a request at the Adventurer's Guild but was ignored due to such a low amount of money. Since Rob and Joseph were close, Joseph took on the quest and slew the bandits.
It was no one's fault it was just an unfortunate turn of events.
Joseph put his hand on Rob's shoulder as he reassures Rob, "It's ok! Really! I got out scot-free! Long story short, I got out with this extraordinary man and he needs help setting the slaves he got free and to let them live normal lives."
Light suddenly emanated from one of the slaves' eyes but still kept quiet. After a short while, the rest of the slaves had finally hope in their eyes.
"Slave seals? I-I am very sorry but I only finished around 3/4 of the research... I still haven't finished my work since I had to focus on making money and--" Rob was cut short by a sudden outbreak by one of the girls.
One of the girls dashed in front of Rob with trying to plead with him, "YOU COULD SET US FREE?! PLEASE SET ME FREE I DON'T WANT TO DIE A SLAVE PLEASE I WILL DO ANYTHING AT ALL PLEASE!"
Then the others fully realized this then jumped to Rob again offering everything they could as long as their seals were erased.
"Stop! Please, we will set you free just bear with us for the moment while we sort this out!" Arthur's voice forced the slaves to form an orderly line trying to once again calm themselves after their initial outburst.
"Master... will you set us free?"
"Yes! I will just please wait while we sort this out! You have my word! No single person deserves to be treated as property." At first, Arthur pleaded with the girls while he, later on, mumbled something that was inaudible by everyone else except himself.
Tears started to fall from the eyes that were filled with hope, "MASTER! WE WILL DO ANYTHING PLEASE SET US FREE! WE HAVE BEEN TORMENTED, RAPED, ABUSED FOR DAYS ON END AND WE HAVE SUFFERED ENOUGH!" Arthur completely agreed that they have suffered enough.
"Then, wait until we discuss with Rob." The 5 girls nodded their heads in agreement with tears flowing out like a waterfall.
"Rob, you said it was 3/4 done right? What do you need exactly?" Joseph asked Rob.
"I just need time actually and a few coins to buy the remaining items. I don't need any more specialized materials just the ratio of the materials."
Arthur gave Rob 10 iron coins which Rob was surprised as he only needed 20 copper coins to buy the necessary items.
Rob bought the items and went back to research on how the slave seal could be removed.
"While Rob is doing his thing let's sign you up for the Adventurer's Guild!" A bright smile appeared on Joseph's face as he said this.
Arthur nodded and followed Joseph, Arthur didn't know where the guild was but trusted Joseph so he didn't hesitate to follow.
In the distance he saw a magnificent polished building with a lot of people going in and out, "We are here!" Joseph had a smile on his face because he was really excited.
They entered the Guildhall and were greeted with a couple of adventurers drinking having a good laugh, some depressed ones in the corner and a warm receptionist that welcomed Arthur and Joseph.
"Joseph! H-How! We heard the news that you were taken in by King Rhast and--" The receptionist's face was full of shock as she knew what had happened.
"Worry not! Long story short, I left with this young man and he needs to enter your guild!"
"Uhm! Yes, but you do know the rules that only those of age can enter right? Though there are some exceptions such as extremely talented people, there hasn't been a case since hundreds of years ago." The receptionist sighed as she said the last part.
"You know me, I always bring people who are worthy of this guild here."
Arthur questioned Joseph, "You didn't have a guild right? Then why are you so familiar with her?"
"Oh, my bad! I have to show you, my actual guild! My mastery of the technique hasn't reached 1/10th of the way so I could only hide my Guild status." Joseph hid his guild status as to not harm the guild. His decision was perfect as if he didn't the Silent Assassins Guild would've attacked the Adventurer's Guild.
"Conceal"
Joseph put his hand on the Status Orb and his stats were displayed.

Arthur saw Joseph's new stats and saw that he was part of the Adventurer's Guild and he was Iron Rank?
"Oh yes! You don't know anything about guilds right? Well, let me explain."
"Guilds are organizations which protect one another for a common goal. Each guild has a specific mark that symbolizes which guild they belong to. These marks show where the members are and could communicate with the guild telepathically. There are also ranks within these guilds and show power within the guild and have an amount of influence to a certain degree. The way how people are ranked are the same way how coins are ranked. The strength of a copper rank should be at least 10 bronze rank within the same guild, this was how they were placed so it was impossible for someone weak to be up so high in the guild."
Arthur thought about this and when he remembered that Joseph was at Emperor Rank he didn't have any questions about it.
"Believe me, Rebecca! This young man will surpass me one day and might even get up to the Adventurer's Guild: Gold one day!"
"Adventurer's Guild: Gold? What's this about?
"Unlike most guilds, the adventurer's guild has many branches and are ranked the same way as coins and ranks. Being Adventurer's Guild: Bronze, we are one of the weakest branches since Intent Stage is the average rank of Humans." Joseph sighed with melancholiness.
Intent Stage? So I was summoned to this world where it was the weakest of part of the realm? Everything right now was already extremely difficult to catch up with and now Intent Stage? These thoughts circulated within Arthur's mind.
This is going to be a long journey till I get back home.
