The Weasleys and Malfoys both looked at the kid who interrupted the fight.
"Alex?", exclaimed all the Weasley kids, Harry and Hermione except Ginny while Draco frowned as he held his father's sleeve.
"Hello everyone, it's nice seeing you here.", he said as he smiled and tossed the book into Ginny's cauldron. "Let it stay there for a bit."
Lucius put Ginny's book back in before he focused on Alex, "Don't you know that its bad manners to interrupt people?"
"Mister Malfoy, you are confusing bad manners to being a good person. Of course, I'll stop an honest and innocent man from touching an ex-death eater like you.
Oh, and you know what is considered bad manners? Taking someone's things without asking."
"You… will regret this.", Lucius said as he glared at him.
"I guess that's a threat, ey? Pureblood failures, haiya. Let me show you something.", he said as he conjured a small box out of nowhere.
He took out a revolver from inside a box and let everyone see it properly.
"Do you know what this thing is, mister Malfoy?"
"I have no interest in useless things." Lucius spat as he stared at Alex, not moving an inch.
"You see… this is the muggle version of the killing curse. There is no need to explain what a killing curse is right? After all, you must have a lot of experience in using the three unforgivables."
Lucius took out his wand and pointed it at Alex, who simply smiled.
"Do you dare to do it? Come on, one small mistake here will land both you and your wife in Azkaban."
Lucius said nothing and patted Draco on his shoulder, "Let's go. It's a waste of time talking to these imbeciles."
Alex let out a long sigh as he turned around to face the others. Everyone had a stunned expression on their faces. The Weasley parents and Hagrid wondered how a mere child could talk about killing curses and death while also having the gall to anger Lucius.
The others just thought that he was very cool and they couldn't tell why. While they were busy staring at him, Alex fished out the diary from Ginny's cauldron.
"Thank you for keeping my book safe."
"Alex… how could you talk to him like that? It is as you said, he can't act against you in public but there are other ways… Don't involve yourself with the Malfoys.", Molly said worriedly while Alex simply smiled.
"Yes, Mrs Weasley. Oh and uh … you can have this gun if you want, Mr Weasley. Afterall, you have been staring at it since the Malfoys left."
He could see the excitement and embarrassment in Arthur's eyes when he heard what Alex said.
"Don't you need it? I mean, it's yours."
"You see, I already told you before. This thing in my hand can really kill people. Even someone with giant bones like Hagrid can't survive this, let alone mere humans like us."
"Is it really that dangerous?", Arthur asked hesitantly while Molly glared at him.
"Not this one. It doesn't work. There are others that look exactly like this and do work pretty well. Oh, you have to use them properly.", he said as de-summoned the gun while Arthur looked like he had lost a fortune.
"Anyways, I'll get going. I still have a lot of things to buy. See you all…", Alex said and left them in a hurry.
Harry frowned as he saw him leave so soon, "Hey Ron… didn't he just use magic?"
The whole group's eyes widened as they turned towards the boy who just left. He seemed to be talking to two women who didn't look like natives.
"Maybe it was one of those two who put up the barrier and conjured the box since it's almost impossible for someone so young to do something like that. Let's move everyone, we have a lot of packing to do.", Molly said before leaving the Grangers alone as they wanted to wait for the Longbottoms.
Alex bought everything he needed and told the two women to bring all his stuff back home while he headed to Borgin and Burkes. Before he entered the shop, he headed to an Alley and swallowed a pill and walked back out.
The bell rang, indicating that someone entered the shop. Borgin stood at the counter as he checked who it was. A tall man whose face was filled with burn marks entered the shop and slowly walked towards the counter as he looked around.
"Hmm… What do you have to offer, Borgin?"
"Sire, may I ask what your name is, please?", Borgin asked as he rubbed his palms together.
"Would you believe me if I called myself Salazar Slytherin?"
"Um… "
"No, right? Don't ask useless questions."
"Yes, sire. You can pick anything that catches your eyes and I will tell you its worth."
Alex nodded and placed the hand of glory on the counter before he continued to look around.
"What does this thing do?"
"Sir, it gives light only to the holder. You will have to insert a candle first. It's the best friend of thieves and plunderers."
"Hmm… so the prerequisites are, there has to be darkness and a candle too. A candle is manageable but only being able to use it at night or dark areas is a bit unfavourable."
"Sir, I do have an item that can suck in all light within a hundred meters from the wearer.", Borgin took out a green glove and placed it on the counter.
"Lumos can counter it though."
"No sir. Lumos cannot be casted inside the sphere of darkness. Even fire spells are rendered useless.", Borgin explained.
"Impressive… how much would both of them cost, I wonder?"
"Sire, they will cost you only a hundred galleons."
"Fifty."
"Ninety."
"Forty.", Alex stared at Borgin expressionlessly, waiting for him to counter.
"I… alright, seventy."
"Deal." Alex said as he smiled and placed seventy coins on the counter before leaving with the two items
After he was done with buying everything he needed, he headed back home and had a nice hot dinner before he jumped onto his bed and fell asleep.
