It was the first time Luca would be away from Sophia since they mated with one another.

Sophia assured him that she would be alright since most of the pain had subsided and she could move around easier than before. Hoping that it would ease Luca's worries as he left, she kept her true thoughts to herself. Whenever he was away like that, her heart couldn't find peace. It only got worse since their bond.

His being in a different room than her made her feel unsettled, much less leaving and going to the other side of New Vista close to the water.

The alpha held onto her for a few moments before leaving the penthouse.

For the first time since Luca's strange meetings outside of the office started being more frequent, he was driving himself to the outskirts of the city using a regular car that was certain to have no connections to his father.
