章節 47: Incompetent

"What did you eat today?" asked Maria after she came in and saw me on the couch.

"I had some cereal this morning."

"Hmm." she hummed walking towards the kitchen, "are you hungry?"

"Um no not really. I'm not in the mood to eat anything right now."

She then came and sat beside me on the couch and I felt her staring at me and I sighed.

"Do you have something to say or to ask?"

"No." she said still staring, but I knew had something on her mind.

I had been staying with Maria since last night because I didn't feel safe staying by myself and she offered up her place.

She lived alone so I luckily didn't have to worry about any awkward interaction with a family member or eve boyfriend.

"Emilio came to work today." she said, and I froze.

"Oh."

"He asked about you." she continued slowly as if waiting for a reaction, but I just remained cool and collected.

"Okay."
