Chapter 99: Homesickness

By mid-November, the North Sea was frequently lashed by strong winds and battered by high seas, making it treacherous for most ships to navigate. On this particular day, a three-masted ship bearing a black flag emblazoned with a blood-red cross of the Kingdom of England appeared silently on the roiling sea. It harnessed the fierce, cold tailwind, slicing through the waves with a speed unmatched by other pirate vessels of the time.
