Despite Redbeard's uncertain state of drowning or being impaled, he was nonetheless dead. The 'Pirate Code' overseeing the election announced in a mechanical, emotionless voice:

"Candidate number one, Redbeard Edward, is confirmed dead. Candidate number two, Violet, may choose to continue the Great Treasure Trial or withdraw from Valhalla. If you continue the trial, you may obtain full authority after finding the Great Treasure. If you withdraw now, as the sole candidate, you may automatically assume the position of Acting Marshal. Your term will last until a motion for a re-election is initiated by a majority of the parliament members or until the next election in three years."

Violet responded without hesitation: "I choose to leave Valhalla immediately."
