"I just arrived back," I complained as Jessica barged into my house with another of her great news. I was having a lazy time in my garden with a book and some snacks when she shoved a contract in my hand.

I was not actually reading the book, but I was busy thinking of the man that I had not seen for several days since he left me at the hotel.

Under any other circumstance, I would be thrilled with the news she brought with her, but this time, I just did not give a damn.
