"Why must I go along with this?" Grensky moaned, his feet sore from the incessant marching.

"Stop yammering and get ready," growled the goblin leader, a different one from Morne's last battle. "The portal will be done in two minutes."

Morne straightened at that, drawing his halberd.

His armor had been patched up and his wounds healed, as had Essenla's, and their weapons had been painstakingly maintained. Essenla's sword was sharp enough to cut a length of twine draped across its blade, and Morne's axe-sized halberd could chop through an elf's limbs like cheap wood.

Essenla appeared to be much more comfortable now that her crimson leather armor was fully repaired, but still slightly uneasy as she prepared herself for the task at hand.

She fiddled with the hilt of her sword anxiously, stealing glances at the point in the air where the elf village's barrier should be.
