Essenla dropped her spear and reactively caught the object by the hilt, finding it to be one of Eledren's Seasons, which explained why she could see it within her Sense.

  "That will do you more good than the spear you were using," End told her, assuming a valiant stance with his shield and spear pointed in front of him. "Do your best not to break it; it's irreplaceable."

"If it comes down to me or the dagger, I make no promises," Essenla warned him as she took some practice swings at the air with her new weapon.

"I would expect nothing less. I'm merely asking you to try to ensure that it doesn't come to that."

"I think I can do that."

The fog around them shook violently again, stirring at the edges of their Sky Sense as a warning of what was to come.
