CHAPTER 45

Jared let out a deep sigh, rhythmically drumming on the table before him.

'Hmm, it seems like I've caught some unwanted attention.'

He twirled the letter between his fingertips while using the other hand to tap on his chin.

Earlier on, when he saved her from Craig and Zoe, Jared hoped he would not have to tie himself to Skai much and treat it as one of those moments while figuring out the type of connection she had to him.

Little did he know that the party he was gracing briefly was going to do more than just bring them together.

Now that he'd met her for the third or fourth time, Jared felt something pull him closer. A feeling he hadn't felt with any female prior, let alone a human.

She was something else. She brought both danger and intrigue into his life.
