"With Joyfield?"

"Yeah, he's my sworn brother, my parents' son too. It's only right for me to pay respects to my parents, and to his parents as well."

"You?"

"As your boyfriend, you didn't plan to take me with you to Lake City?"

Every year during their parents' death anniversary and birthdays, Gem would take her back to Lake City to pay their respects. This time, however, it was a private matter between Joyfield and her, not related to their parents' anniversaries or birthdays. So she hadn't thought of Gem.
