Billy recalled that the newscaster had said the Bay Area Blade had been killing couples with children. Charlie wanted to kill the only person who had ever truly been kind to him without expecting anything in return.

He couldn't let her die! Not after trying so hard to find her. He had really wanted to be friends and keep the sunshine in that girl's soul around him.

"Are you going to kill the girl too?" he asked, trying to hide his nervousness.

"Yep."

No! He couldn't! Anyone but her!

"Do you have to? Why not just kill the parents? It can't be as fun killing someone that little. It would be too easy," Billy said quickly.

Charlie cocked his head to the side and raised an eyebrow. "You interested in this kid?"

He had said they were the same and that was why he thought Billy wouldn't rat him out. That was why he let him look at this file in the first place. He trusted him because he thought they were both natural-born killers.
