{Olivander's, Diagon Alley}
{00:13 PM, 4th June, 1988}
Olivander shuffled through his cabinets before he bumbled his way back to Rigel, he was carrying a box in his hands as he gave Rigel a bright smile with the box.
"Here this one should work," Olivander explained, "12 ¾ inches long, made from wood from an Ash tree, the core is made from a dragon's heartstring. It should be suited for transfiguration and charms."
The wand was lighter in color compared to the other one's, it was close to cream in color with a mysterious pattern etched along its length and on the handle. Rigel scanned the wand slightly and like every time a small, translucent, blue screen appeared floating above the wand. Rigel gave the wand a wave as he felt a warmth traveling from his abdomen to his hands before the wand gave sprouted some small fireworks.

Rigel heard muffled clapping, he turned around only to find Rose clapping while giving him an excited grin from outside the shop. None of the Potters and Sirius came into the shop as according to them, selecting a wand was a rather intimate experience, for most young wizards it was the first time someone consciously get in touch with their own magic. Rose apparently got bored of the waiting as she was pressed against the glass window peering into the shop, the door opened as the whole party entered, and Rose immediately started jumping around looking at the fading fireworks.
"How do you feel?" Sirius asked as he gave Rigel a knowing grin.
Rigel gripped his wand harder, he could feel the warmth in his abdomen, it traveled throughout his body but until now he never noticed it, "Yeah..." Rigel gave the man a shrug as he turned back to Olivander, "So how do we store these, a hostler or something?"
Olivander gave Rigel a surprised look before he grabbed something from his table's cabinet and threw it toward him. Rigel grabbed the small bracer-like leather strap, it was easy to see how it could be used but another problem stopped Rigel from donning it. He was wearing a white t-shirt, and its half sleeves left his arms uncovered which meant that if he strap on the hostler, it would be visible which defeated the whole purpose of having one. Plus it would surely look hideous and Rigel wasn't ready for such a monstrosity.
'Okay, it seems like I need to get some custom-made robes, no way I'm wearing something orange.'
Rigel just placed his wand in his right front pocket and kept the hostler in his hands, Olivander's was the first stop where the group stopped so he didn't have any bag to shove the hostler.
"Should we go?" Lily asked, "What do you guys want to buy next," she asked Harry and Rigel.
Harry and Rigel shared a look, Harry shrugged so Rigel spoke, "I need to order some robes if that's okay?" Lily smiled as the rest of the boys groaned. After some complaints and discussions, the group split into two, with Harry, Rigel, Lily, and Rose going to do the rest of the shopping for his Hogwarts term while Sirius, James, and the dynamic duo went towards the Quality Quidditch Supplies with a promise to buy the potions supply after.
Diagon Alley was one of the premier shopping locations in England, at least if one wanted to buy legal goods. Rigel looked towards the road that supposedly goes towards the Knockturn Alley according to the sign. Gringotts still stood in all its leaning glory as they walked towards a purple shop with the words 'Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions' engraved on the shop front.
"You feeling okay sweetie?" Lily asked as their group entered the shop, Rigel gave her a nod as he looked around at the mannequins that were wearing some of the shop's selections, he wasn't impressed as he looked around, wizarding robes were not accurately named, or maybe his understanding of robes was twisted because of the existence of Bathrobes. In the Wizarding Society, a robe was like a three-piece suit. Like an undercoat, there was a piece of cloth that looked like one of those blankets with sleeves, it was supposed to be wrapped around your body with its front side adorned with patterns and designs. The second piece of the puzzle was an actual robe, but its sleeves continued to grow in width towards your arms. One of the displayed robes had cuffs almost as large as he was.
"Yeah, the traditional clothing of Wizards is just..." Rigel paused, there was no reason to dish the clothes that he likely would have to wear during formal events. He quickly found some robes that didn't look as outlandish, their sleeves were properly sized and most of them didn't have any bright colors.
"Hello, how can I help you!" Rigel turned towards the lady who just spoke, her name, Madam Malkin, was floating above her head along with a '???' for level.
"Yeah I would like to order 4 robes from this collection," Rigel pointed to the two lines that were okay in his books, "Keep the colors as black or maybe some of the darker colors."
'I won't mind white but being dresses from head to toe in white just doesn't feel right-'
"Of course, come through here, I'll show you-"
...
...
{Around 2 Hours later...}
"Only the potions ingredients are left to buy," Rigel spoke as he once again scanned his list, "Should we meet with the others at the potions shop?"
Lily scoffed as she adjusted her grip on Rose's hand, the little girl was distracted as she slurped on her ice cream, "Do you think those blockheads would shop, they would probably be distracted by something, though most likely they would still be in front of the broom shop, buying unnecessary stuff. I'm surprised you came with us Harry, every other day you would have run away with them."
"I just didn't feel like it," Harry answered as he scooped up the last of his ice cream. Rigel turned to look at Harry, he felt the bespectacled boy's eyes on him several times today, but he ignored it.
'So there really is something abnormal about him, I thought it was weird how much he was clinging to Rose...'
Rigel thought back on his actions today, he didn't do anything suspicious anyway so maybe he should ask about it later.
'It's not like I care anyway, he might be the protagonist and whatnot but after entering Hogwarts they most likely would end up in separate houses... where would I end up in most likely Slytherin or Ravenclaw-'

AN- I'm thinking about writing 4-5 more chapters today, let's get this story to 15k words at least so that we can enter the rankings after the reset today or tomorrow!
Let me set the expectations from the story as well, the MC would be a little evil and selfish, to be honest almost everyone is a little selfish, and when you think about the fact that you could do things most people can dream of just by waving a stick around, even the smallest selfishness in someone's character would be magnified.
The MC will be noticeably more mature, but it doesn't mean there would be any bashing going on. I don't like to needlessly bash characters however flawed they may be, if you like reading those kinds of stories maybe this one isn't for you.
Lastly, the main plot of the story, Voldemort, etc would come in during MC's 3rd year. The main plot of the story would start then, and till then the story would mostly go through a power-up/world-building arc. I hope you guys would like it! That's it for the expectations I guess!
