章節 89: 89. A Planned Night
Morning came, and it was the day the Burundi operation was to be held. The Expendables entered the country through the DRC's border since the capital was the nearest location. The targets had already been located, and they had done all their research.
The Wizard, Greengrass, was there to help them navigate some tough spots. The job was by no means tough, as there was almost no fighting involved, but rather, the game was all about infiltration and coming up with the best strategy.
Under Rambo's leadership, they split into multiple teams and had a ten-hour window to finish the job. They had no idea what was going to happen once they placed the wooden horses inside the vaults and treasuries, but they hoped it was something extraordinary.

Ten hours passed, and it was time to end the game. Happy oversaw the work from somewhere else and handed the second part of the Portkeys to his ten elves; five were those he inherited from Flamels.
"All of you, if you see any muggles, just stun them and continue with your work. I need you to use the portkey to move everything that's in the room you're going to. Don't worry. If you can't do it in one go, you can take multiple trips.
"If the situation turns too dangerous, you should retreat and start helping another elf. I value your lives more than any gold or wealth they have—so be careful." Happy briefed the ten while sitting in the Room of Requirement.
"Understood, Master Lestrange," Marcus the elf replied, touching the Portkey. "Donkey Kong!"
Woosh!
The passwords to the Portkeys were spoken, and the elves quickly vanished. However, they didn't return to him, as there was limited space in the Room of Requirement. Rather, he used the underground vault that rested under his family's mansion.
"I hope they're successful—the ships are already en route, after all."

Indeed—Happy's plan involved a lot of big spending. He had made a slight change in his plans. Initially, he hoped to disrupt the markets of all the raw materials that Burundi sold. But then he felt bad as many other nations would suffer from it. So, instead, since he had a list of all of Burundi's buyers, he just lured them away and sold them the materials at a cheaper price—of course, for that, he also bought them from somewhere else first at a higher price. It would have an impact on the market but on a smaller and temporary scale.
Huge ship containers were already on the move to deliver the goods. So Burundi was soon going to be on its own, ripe for a certain wizard, a team of muggles, and a company to enter.

By the eleventh hour, the elves began to return one by one, looking tired. Finally, Marcus gave a report. "Master Lestrange, everything been taken—we had to stun fifteen muggles, and one of them shot bullets, but we stopped it easily. The vaults under the house are almost full now."
Happy smiled widely, completely satisfied. "Then, you all better rest. I still have work to do tonight."
Very important work, in fact. He had told Sirius to meet him at the Shrieking Shack—on top of that. He had double-checked that it wasn't a full moon. There was no chance Remus would turn into a werewolf that night.
However, the last link of his plan was Snape. The three men had to confront each other, come clean, and offer apologies. But he knew Snape too well and understood that telling the man about Sirius and Remus would never work.
"Koko, go and deliver this letter to Professor Snape." Happy handed the cute goose a folded letter. "And don't annoy him for treats."
"Oink!" Koko replied and rushed away. Meanwhile, Happy moved toward the common room. It was time to use Harry's Marauder's Map for a greater purpose.

Happy had dinner with his three friends first, and then led them into the common room. No one was ready to sleep just yet, so the four sat in a corner, where Happy talked with them.
"Harry, I heard the twins gave you something nice. What is it?" He asked, looking excited.
"It's the Marauders map. My Dad and his friends made it together." Harry revealed and took the map out of his sweater. It seemed he always kept it close. "It can show me where someone is moving in the school in real-time."
"Really? Can I take a look?" Happy asked.
Harry simply handed over the map and looked at it with Happy. He tapped his wand on it and activated it, which instantly revealed the map of the school and its nearby areas. "See, this is us."
"Wait!" Happy suddenly pointed at a corner of the map. "Why are there two pairs of footsteps facing each other? Why is one pair wide open?"
"They're probably sitting face to face." Harry said.
"But… isn't this too close? As if… there's no gap between them." Happy concluded, confused. "Hmm… strange…. Ah! Look, that's Professor Lupin moving."
Harry quickly plastered his face on it, hearing the name. Both the boys watched as the man moved through the school and went out, eventually entering the Shrieking Shack.
"What the!" Happy exclaimed all of a sudden. "That's… Sirius there."
This time, Hermione and Ron also jumped closer to see. They watched it for a few seconds, and before Happy even said anything, they stood up.
"They must have found the traitor!" Harry muttered. "Let's go and see it for ourselves."
"Let's do it." Happy agreed and got up. "You have the cloak, don't you? Let's go there quickly."
So, the four quickly made their way out of the common room and tip-toed out of the school building. Since the tree wasn't too far, they had no issue reaching it without getting found out. Heck, even if Filch had caught them, the man would have let them go because of Happy.
"How are we going to get past it?" Ron asked.
Happy took out his wand. "Immobulus!"
The tree abruptly stopped moving, as if it was frozen. "Let's go."
"That was wicked! I didn't know that spell worked on it." Ron was in awe and followed behind Happy, who was leading the group.
They entered the tunnel and moved across the dark space using a simple Lumos spell. In no time, they found themselves arriving at the dilapidated building and began to climb its stairs.
"It's the Shrieking Shack, isn't it?" Hermione guessed. "It's supposed to be haunted."
Happy realized from her words that Lupin hadn't told them that he was a werewolf. However, when he glanced at Harry, he noticed the boy ignored Hermione's words, as if he knew the truth.
'Did Lupin tell Harry everything?' Happy wondered.
Soon, they began hearing some voices. They clearly belonged to Sirius and Remus, who were fighting each other.
"...It wasn't me, and you know it. It was Peter, Remus. We had changed the Secret Keeper at the last moment for extra protection. So that if anyone came after them, they'd first come to me!"
"...I don't believe you! All the evidence was stacked against you!"
"...But Remus, think about it… How long do rats live? The rat the Weasleys have has lived for over a decade… it's impossible! Tonight, I'll prove it… you will see."
Knock! Knock!
Just then, Happy entered after knocking. "Hello there…"
"Happy!" Sirius excitedly called him at his arrival. "Show this ignorant friend of mine the truth… he won't open his eyes otherwise."
"W-What's going on here?" Harry looked left and right, at Happy's face and at Sirius from time to time. "You know each other?"
Happy sighed and moved aside toward a table and began to work there, taking out something from his pockets. Meanwhile, Sirius went ahead and hugged Harry.
"Yes, Harry… Although I'm sure he's not very pleased with my recent actions." Sirius said. "You must be blessed with great luck to have someone like him by your side."
All that moment, Remus was confused. "What's going on here? What did Happy do?"
"He saved me, Remus… From insanity! He was already onto Peter before anyone else." Sirius pointed at Happy. "If not for him, a lot of worse things could have happened this year. But look at me now."
