章節 99: Chapter 99: "Dangerous Night and Unfair Conditions: The Gryffindor Quidditch Team Prepares for the First Match"

Most third-year Hogwarts students expected today to be a perfect day. They planned to go out to Hogsmeade during the day to experience the magic of the village. Senior students often told them about the interesting shops in Hogsmeade, such as Honeyduke's Candy Shop and Joko's Magic Joke Shop. The former attracts foodies, while the latter attracts pranksters like the Weasley twins. There are also many other types of shops in Hogsmeade that can meet the needs of various students.

When they were having fun, the school prepared a Halloween dinner for all the students. There were hundreds of pumpkin lanterns hanging in the auditorium, as well as a group of fluttering bats and many flame-spitting orange streamers that lazily drifted under the ceiling like a splendid water snake. This was a feast that tempted the students to eat even though their stomachs may have already been full of Honeyduke's candy.

The premise of all this was that they could fall asleep peacefully at night.

Shortly after the end of the party, there was an accident. In summary, Black managed to sneak into Hogwarts, but was stopped by the password of the Fat Lady. Annoyed, he tore up the portrait and the Fat Lady ran away.

All the students were called together and the teachers searched the entire castle while the students were not allowed to return to their dormitories until it was deemed safe. In the auditorium, rows of sleeping bags were arranged neatly, but the students in the sleeping bags were not quiet. They had not yet adjusted from the festive atmosphere and were whispering, discussing the escaped prisoner who was the murderer.

"How did he get in?" Pansy asked in a low voice. She had been so drunk that she missed the banquet at night, slept in the dormitory, and was only now waking up before being woken up and brought here.

"His goal is not you, so you can sleep peacefully," Draco whispered. He saw a few silver ghosts floating over and several prefects responsible for maintaining order came to the auditorium.

"I warn you again. Tonight we may face a murderous murderer and a dark wizard who has been affected by Dementors for more than ten years. You can't expect him to have reason, so please close your eyes and keep your mouths shut. He may use his voice to locate people," a senior prefect said, his tone serious and intimidating.

This passage had the desired effect and all the students in the auditorium fell silent immediately.

All the students at Hogwarts tonight fell asleep looking at the ceiling with the stars.

The next day, the ruined portrait of the Fat Lady had been taken down and replaced with the portrait of Sir Cadogan and his fat gray pony. No one was very happy about this. Sir Cadogan spent half of his time challenging people to fights and the other half thinking about ridiculously complicated passwords, which he had to change twice a day.

There were objections raised to this, but there was no suitable alternative, as the other portraits were also scared.

After Black's invasion, perhaps coincidentally, the weather has become worse and worse, which is not good news for the first Quidditch match scheduled for next Saturday.

"Like us, they will face violent winds, heavy rain, and any other unknown difficulties during the game. We are all playing on the same field. Are you afraid that Gryffindor will not have fair conditions?" Wood mobilized his teammates before the match on the field.

"No!" The members of the Gryffindor team roared in unison. At the same time, Angelina, the girl who served as the chaser, also threw a ghost ball, which passed through the ring.

Harry's current mood was a mixture of excitement, exhilaration, and panic. Wood had hinted countless times during normal training about his importance to the team, which made Harry a little nervous. He was always afraid of messing up and finally causing him to be unable to perform at his usual level during the previous training.

Looking at Wood's eager eyes for victory, and in order to be able to hold the Quidditch Cup with his own hands, Harry desperately tried to calm himself down and make the most of the training time in the few days before the final match.

A golden lightning bolt flashed past Harry and he keenly felt it. He inherited his father's talent and was an excellent seeker. He accelerated the broom he was riding on by 2000 and lowered his body, shifting his center of gravity forward. The Golden Snitch got closer and closer to him until it was within reach.

"Well done, Harry, that's how it feels. If you keep this feeling and play against those Slytherins, I promise that it won't take three minutes and the game will be over," Wood said as he poked a ball beside him, sending it flying towards Harry on his broom and encouraged him again.

Harry had just caught the Golden Snitch passing by with ease, giving him a boost of confidence.

"This is just training. We are all on our own on the field," Harry shouted, his voice breaking through the wind and reaching Wood's ears.

"Just like the Slytherin seeker, it doesn't matter whether he plays or not. Have you forgotten the last time we played against Slytherin, when you finished the match in just a few minutes?"

"What if Draco was on the field?" Harry couldn't resist getting back at Wood, but he soon regretted it because he saw Wood's face turn terribly black.

"Guys, I think we have to discuss strategy again," Wood said as he raised his right hand high and clenched it into a fist, signaling that their team was suspending training.

Then one by one, the Gryffindor players returned from the sky to the ground.

"Come on, let's go to the lounge to talk," Wood said with a dry cough. He waved his hand and led his players back to the lounge after their daily training.

"Compared to the cold gusts of wind that occasionally blow in from outside, it feels very warm in here. The coals in the fireplace are glowing red, radiating heat.

After Wood finished presenting his views, it seemed that the players had differing opinions.

"I object," said Angelina, a tall girl and one of Gryffindor's current chasers. "We have no reason to be afraid of a student who hasn't been practicing on the field. We don't have much time left, we can't waste it on a possibility."

"I agree," said George and Fred in unison. They didn't have their usual grins on their faces and didn't joke around.

The responses from their teammates also made Wood's blood boil. He slammed his fist down and said, "Yes, we might be afraid that the kid will fail. But no matter what, we will ultimately win in the end! We have nothing to fear."
