章節 2: Chapter 2: Camp Conversion Order

After watching for a while, Fang Jie felt that his mood had finally calmed down somewhat.

"Let's see what I can do now. At this rate, I probably won't last three days." There was no food here, not even water. Unknown monsters howled outside.

If he didn't quickly resolve the current problems, he feared he wouldn't survive the adaptation period.

With that thought, Fang Jie began to study the issues with the Lord's Cottage. Unfortunately, no matter how much he studied, the Lord's Cottage kept indicating there were no resources, no blueprints. Although the Lord's Cottage itself had the capability to produce farmers, without resources, it was useless.

"A farmer needs food for one unit, and one unit is enough for one day's consumption. I don't even have food for myself; where would I find it?" Fang Jie glanced at the iron shovel in his hand. Did he really need to take the risk?

It was unlikely that a person who had lived in a peaceful society would suddenly become a brave warrior in another world, even the thought was unsettling.

"Eh, what's this?" Fang Jie suddenly spotted something like a token on the table.

The interior of the entire Lord's Cottage was very simple: a bed, a table, and four chairs. Operations relied on a panel, which could only be used inside the Lord's Cottage.

Fang Jie looked at the item, and then a line of text popped up.

Camp Conversion Order: Generates three different Camps at random, allowing the Lord to select one to switch to. The current camp is Human. Note: Each Camp has its advantages and disadvantages, please choose carefully.

Fang Jie casually went to the online discussion forum and posted a message, "Did you guys find any special items in your Lord's Cottages?"

"What special items, have you gone mad? If there was such a thing, would we still be in this situation?"

"I want to eat, I want to eat, I'm about to starve to death, someone give me some food."

"Eat shit then, I have some, just don't know how to get it to you."

"Bark, I've started collecting it, just to get through today."

"Haha, I'm in a supermarket, there's so much food here, I can't finish it all. Oh, I'm really worried about wasting it."

One showing off, followed by a string of curses. Falling into a resource-rich place like a supermarket made life so much better than others.

"It's a pity that even if there is food, I can't send it to you guys, really a pity."

That person continued to provoke resentment, but it was too bad everyone was anonymous and no one knew who this person was.

"It looks like I can't rely on these guys." Thinking of the unreliable netizens online, Fang Jie decided that he had to rely on himself. Clenching his teeth, he chose to use the order.

The Camp Conversion Order burst into a bright glow, and then three options appeared.

Camp Conversion Order activated, Camp options available: Elemental, Beastman, Undead.

Elemental Camp: Bodies forged from elements, possessing strong combat power and very powerful elemental magic abilities. However, recruiting troops requires Elemental Gems, which are expensive.

Beastman Camp: A powerful physique that grants extraordinary close-combat abilities, but weak magical ability, consuming twice as much food as the Human Faction for recruitment. Note: Beastmen are hostile to Humans, be wary of recruited Beastman leaders devouring the Lord.

Undead Camp: Bodies forged from death, the antithesis of the living, enemies of all living creatures.

Fang Jie pondered over the three Camps. If he gave up, he would remain with the Human Faction, with no changes and no likely advantages.

The advantage of the Human Faction lay in learning and cooperation, having a variety of different troops, but with too few in number, they could not be effective. The key issue was, he currently had no resources for recruitment.

"If only I had landed near a slaughterhouse, I could at least have recruited a few farmers."

Fang Jie regretted, but it was of no use. He then turned to the other options. The Elemental Camp was very powerful, and didn't require logistics, but recruiting troops needed Elemental Gems, and it's already stated they are costly.

Not to mention he didn't even know what Elemental Gems looked like, wouldn't it be a dead end if he converted?

Without initial resources, this path was not feasible.

Next was the Beastman Camp, which consumed even greater resources but had sufficient combat power. However, reading the note made Fang Jie break into a cold sweat. Could these creatures really eat the Lord?

"Indeed, all Beastmen should die." Fang Jie glared fiercely at the option.

Lastly, the third option, Undead Creatures. He was very familiar with the advantages of this troop type. As long as there were corpses, they could be produced in great numbers and relied on quantity for victory. Likewise, they required no logistics; perhaps just corpses would suffice for manufacturing.

Although there was currently no food, he glanced outside the defense perimeter. Surely that area could provide corpses.

Even though the Undead were the bane of all living creatures, given the circumstances, it was better to survive first.

Fang Jie clenched his teeth and finally placed his finger on the Undead Camp. "Confirmed, selection: Undead Camp."

"Undead Camp selected, please exit the Lord's Cottage. Transformation will be complete in five minutes." Hearing this, Fang Jie quickly walked out, and then saw the Lord's Cottage beginning to transform.

The thatched cottage gradually turned gray and withered. A large number of decorations and some materials made of bone appeared. The entire style changed abruptly from a thatched cottage to one of a Dead Spirit.

"Granted the Unique Talent, Undead Splitting."

Undead Splitting Level 1 (Unique): Splits one of your commanding Undead creatures into two. This is a unique talent, and no second person will obtain the same one.

Was this a Golden Finger arriving? If only he had followers now, he genuinely wanted to give it a try.

Fang Jie looked at the Lord's Cottage. This layout looked like a haunted house; normally no one would live there, most people wouldn't even want to get close.

Entering the room, he saw the interior remained largely unchanged, just embellished with some bone decorations. But the decorations weren't excessive, not to the point of causing discomfort.

"Let's see, the option for producing farmers in the Lord's Cottage, has it now changed to Skeleton Labor? Requires a unit of bone, plus a unit of soul points, with soul points coming from the souls of living creatures after death?"

Fang Jie understood why the Undead were the enemies of all living beings. They needed to kill continuously, requiring a large number of souls to develop. Naturally, living creatures didn't want to die and thus aimed to eliminate them.

"It seems that whatever I do in the future, I must keep a low profile."

Fang Jie gripped the iron shovel in his hand and walked towards the direction of the protective circle. No matter what, he had to acquire the first batch of materials. Only with initial troops could he survive.

Fang Jie knew he couldn't wait; the longer he waited, the less chance he had. What could he do if he became too weak from hunger? He took one last look at the discussion area, where many people were also posting about taking risks.
