Jaybird heard the elevator ping that signaled their arrival to the fifth floor. What Lay beyond it worried him enough that sweat poured down his brow.
He recalled their battle with Morrigan at Dawn, remembered how powerful she was and how lucky they were to have bested her. More than this, he reminisced how the young Morrigan had become supportive of the team the higher they climbed up the tower. He doubted whoever they met next would have a similar disposition.
"Is everyone ready?" Ath3na asked.
Everyone nodded silently.
Then the elevator doors opened and the party swept forward with their weapons drawn only to stumble into a scene they weren't prepared for.
There were dining tables scattered around a large hall. Shadows of every type and size sat around these tables, enjoying meals that the party couldn't see as these too were veiled in shadow.
"No one told me we were going someplace fancy," Liberty Belle noted.
Greetings, fellow reapers!
What do you think of Morrigan at Noon so far? :D Let me know in the comments.
And yes, it is entirely possible for a being to have both her past, present, and future selves occupying the same space — the Avengers said so. Lol, well, I guess it would be an interesting time paradox... although don't expect I'll be writing about that. I've already got cognition theories making my head hurt.
