章節 220: The Raven Knight Part 2  

Like Icarus, Jaybird had flown too close to a powerful force and fell back to the earth in a crumple. However, before Jaybird could crash land onto the sandstone floor, he did manage to pay Goliath back for cutting off one of his wings. 

In a remarkable feat of willpower — and possibly a fit of delirious rage —Jaybird pushed through with his own attack as he fell. He sent Fire Fang's fiery blade streaking forward and pierced the juggernaut in the belly. 

Goliath roared in pain. The crowd went wild. And from above, an announcement rang out that Jaybird had just scored his own point. It was a tie. 

Then Jaybird crashed onto the earth headfirst, sliding across the smooth stone and causing the dust to rise into the air. 

"Holy... pretzel..." he breathed. "It... freaking... hurts..."

If one needed more proof that they were in fact not actually in a game, one needed only to look at the pained expression on Jaybird's face to know this was truth.
