"You've always been the pragmatic sibling," Morgana said, smiling.
"Wipe that smile off your face, Morgana," Morrigan snapped. "I have yet to agree to your proposal."
Leo thought it'd be better coming from him as Morgana looked like she was itching to argue some more.
"We want you to recognize Morgana as your liege and officially support her claim as the next Lord of Death when she makes it," Leo answered.
"Oh, is that all?" Morrigan asked in a sarcastic tone.
"A few more actually," Leo said. He pulled out a scroll from his jacket pocket and began reading its contents. "We will require a tax in exchange for you retaining control of the Tower of Sorcery—"
"—I am to pay you a tax for remaining in my own home?" Morrigan asked, her eyebrow rising an inch.
Greetings, fellow reapers!
Don't forget to vote! One more day until the end of the week! Let's help GMofS rise in the rankings. :D
Yeah, I know you guys didn't expect this ending especially since I have been building up to a battle. But, I thought it was an interesting twist that Morrigan the elder was wise enough not to throw her life away and strike a deal with Morgana. Hope you all liked how that turned out too.
So we've reached the penultimate chapter of the volume... What could happen before the end? Tune in tomorrow to find out!
