Black Howler was gazing down at his smartphone which was currently open to the Abyss Companion app downloadable only to Beta players of the Abyss. It was useful for all manner of Abyss-related businesses such as the A.B.B. portal, Whisper-ing in-game friends, and even item-trading among players or with the newly released Abyss Auction House.

At the moment, Black Howler was browsing through his player profile which in the Abyss was known as the [SOUL] menu.

What follows is an approximation of what is written down on Black Howler's profile.

Greetings, fellow reapers!

Some of you might be asking what the attributes do. Here’s a brief overview:

Strength = attack and defense modifier for warrior types, attack for rogue types

Dexterity = attack speed and movement speed for all types, also a defense modifier for rogue types, dodge for all types

Constitution = health, health regen ability, various immunities like poisons

Intelligence = mental immunities like fear and panic, magic attack, magic defense, knowledge-based feats

Wisdom = magic attack modifier for certain evolutions such as eldritch champion, used in various feats such as Item Trading and Deals, etc., spellcasting modifier for some evolutions that are faith based like Death Cleric

Soul = Everything to do with soul core, energy, and essence. More on this in the future, but the higher your soul, the higher your soul core capacity and overall spiritual strength.

Also, Black Howler’s stats may seem confusing as this is the first time I’ve shown what stats look like in the story but take this into account: he boasts the highest STR among players rivaled only by Argonaut who is just a little lower than him. Also, Black Howler is a combination of a warrior-rogue and since his armor is mostly medium-type, his armor class modifier is DEX which is why he has an 18 +1 armor rating. Not bad but not tank-level.

And I know the values seem a little low but they’re the equivalent of 3-digit stats in other stories. I’m SLIGHTLY following DnD stat values in this case. ;P
