章節 30: Chapter 30: The Spirit's Revelation

The portal's luminescence began to wane, its once radiant light now a mere flicker before it eventually faded to blackness. A cold shiver ran down Li Yang's spine. The weight of despair settled heavily on his chest, making it hard to breathe.

He turned to face the ethereal spirit, whose silver form now shimmered with a melancholic light. "What happened? Why can't I return?" Li Yang's voice was tinged with desperation.

The spirit floated closer, its eyes brimming with age-old sorrow. "You cannot return because this portal was designed to be a one-way journey. Once it has been used, it will not reactivate."

Li Yang felt as if the ground beneath him had crumbled. His mind raced, thoughts of Lan Xi and the danger she was in tormented him. "Where am I then? Is this still Earth?" he asked, trying to grasp any semblance of understanding.

The spirit paused, casting its gaze downward as if contemplating how best to deliver its next words. Then, gently shaking its head, it spoke, "No, this isn't Earth. This realm exists outside the confines of what you understand as your universe."

Li Yang's eyes widened in disbelief. The strange flora and fauna, the crystal-like structures, everything he had seen now made sense. But the realization that he was so far from home made him feel even more isolated and helpless.

"Is there no other way for me to return?" he implored, refusing to accept his fate.

Before the spirit could respond, its gaze settled on the crescent moon pendant hanging around Li Yang's neck. "Where did you get that pendant?" it inquired, a hint of recognition flashing in its eyes.

"This was given to me by my father," Li Yang replied, clutching the pendant instinctively. The very item that had caused him so much intrigue now seemed to hold the key to unraveling the mysteries of this strange realm.

The spirit's form began to undulate, emitting waves of energy that seemed to ripple through the very fabric of the universe. "I've waited eons for this moment," it said, its voice tinged with emotion. Laughter, rich and heartfelt, echoed through the meadows, "You've finally come! You are the child of my benefactor."

Li Yang, taken aback by the spirit's sudden outburst, tried to process the information. "Who was my father to you? And who are you?"

The spirit took a deep ethereal breath, "Your father saved my existence many centuries ago. He was a guardian of realms, a bridge between worlds. I am Lysar, a protector of this dimension. Your father and I shared a bond, forged in battles and sealed in trust."

"But how is this possible? My father was just a simple man on Earth," Li Yang retorted, struggling to reconcile the tales of his father's heroics with the memories of the man he had known.

Lysar's eyes softened. "There's much about your lineage you do not know. Your father had to leave this realm, his powers bound and memories sealed, to protect you and your mother. But he always hoped you'd find your way here, to learn about your legacy."

Li Yang felt a swirl of emotions - disbelief, pride, and an overwhelming longing for the father he barely knew. The pendant, once a symbol of mystery, now became a beacon of hope, a connection to his past and perhaps, a key to his future.

Determined, Li Yang looked up at Lysar, "Then teach me, guide me, so I can return to my wife and fulfill the legacy my father left behind."

With a nod, Lysar extended a shimmering hand towards Li Yang, signaling the beginning of an epic journey of self-discovery and cosmic battles. The quest to return home had just begun.
