I'm seething as I storm to the waiting car that's Mariano's. He's probably going somewhere today, but too bad for him, he's taking a different one because this is what I want to ride today. Enzo barely catches up to me. I don't wait for him as I climb into the backseat and shut the door in his face. He rounds the driver's seat and I tell him the address where I'm meeting Vanka.

As he drives down the driveway, my phone rings. It's Mariano. I reject his call and shove my phone into my cross-body purse. A few seconds later, Enzo's phone on the dashboard mount rings, and the name "Boss" flashes on the screen. He reaches for it to answer the call.

"Don't answer that!" I warn.
