Chapter 358 Only Helps Those Who Respect, Love, and Strengthen Themselves
This time Liu Fengle made his second pilgrimage to Putuo Mountain, not for the other attractions, but once again to pay homage to one of the symbols of Putuo Mountain – the bronze statue of Guanyin of the South Sea, completed at the end of October 1997.
The statue of Guanyin of the South Sea is cast from a new type of gold-like bronze. The total height of the standing statue is 33 meters, including an 18-meter Guanyin, a 2-meter lotus platform, and a 13-meter pedestal with an area of 5500 square meters. The statue weighs more than 70 tons. The Guanyin statue carries Amitabha on its head, carries the Wheel of Dharma in her left hand, and bestows fearlessness with her right hand. It is graceful and kind, embodying the spirit of Guanyin Bodhisattva, who sees all beings with wisdom and whose vows are as deep as the sea.
