"What was that about?" Alicia asked, following Dominic, who was walking as if to clear his mind.
Dominic looked at the stars and said, "In this country, there are several refugee communities, one larger than the other. We are above them, but there is one that can match us, and that is the CRM."
"Now that we are expanding our territory, our border soldiers encountered a CRM squad that was eliminating a community." Dominic lit a cigarette; he had gotten into the habit of smoking flower cigarettes that supposedly wouldn't make him addicted.
"Can we negotiate?" Alicia understood the gravity of the problem.
Dominic smiled, looked at Alicia, and said, "The goals of those in power are to dominate the world, just as we do... I'm afraid if we go down that path, we will go to war with the CRM. A decision of submission or attack is in my hands and in the hands of whoever leads the enemy."
This was why Dominic wouldn't waste his time putting up with clearly idiotic people, like Travis's son, who needed to be disciplined.
Alicia understood the problem they were facing, so she said nothing. In the end, the decision they made would greatly impact whether they had a future or not.
…
General Operations Base.
"The CRM is seeking a peaceful meeting with our forces. What decision should we make regarding this?" Daniel posed this question to everyone present at the meeting.
There were high-ranking captains and leaders of frontier cities who had come to be informed about the meeting.
"We should send them a nuclear bomb."
"We won't be like them; we're talking about hundreds of thousands of lives."
"So, will we let them take what we've built?"
"I never said that."
Stuart shook his head. There was a bit of everything in this meeting, so he hoped Dominic would make a sensible decision amidst the many crazy things people were saying.
"Silence!"
Boom!
Dominic hit the table so that everyone would stop arguing and focus on the important things. "We need to focus and know how to handle this matter as seriously as possible. From what we can see, the CRM has made the same decisions as us in different measures."
Stuart nodded and explained, "We have information that the CRM is a newly inaugurated organization of three large survivor communities. As far as we know, one of the three branches that compose it was formed by the military, so they should have considerable power."
"We have nuclear bombs."
"That's not the point. If we join the CRM, we could reclaim the country in less than five years and start expanding from that point to other parts of the world," said Stuart, emphasizing how important it would be for them not to go to war with the CRM.
But now a question arose: how do they take the CRM without them wanting to joke around?
"I will meet with them, explain my conditions, and if the answers are positive, we will unify. If they are negative, I'll agree to think about it and then eliminate the top leaders of the CRM to take control." In Dominic's mind, all of this was feasible.
If there was a mistake, he was sure he would fix it along the way, resulting in as many deaths as possible.
At least everyone believed Dominic's words, but they were sure they would be ready in case air attacks emerged. They now had anti-air defense systems that could intercept hundreds of missiles, so they cared little about fighting other organizations.
