[Nadia’s POV]
I sit, stewing over what happened at dinner. It was a setback, but I knew once Rosco calmed down, he would most certainly see reason. I just had to wait patiently until then. I just needed to be patient and get a drink.
Getting up, I make my way out of my room and then head downstairs, which is completely devoid of life.
Frowning, I extend my senses while wondering where Hamilton and Naomi could be, but I don’t seem to feel them at all.
“Must be out,” I shrug, heading into the kitchen so I can pour myself a glass of wine.
When I arrive, the cooks and maids are all gathered around a small box TV. Their energy is dripping with fear and worry, which only makes me curious about what exactly it is that they’re watching.
“What is it?” I ask, causing a few to jump in shock and whirl around to face me. “What?” I push when they don’t answer my question. “Are you dumb or deaf?”
“About that,” one begins. “There was an accident.”
