Because of the pain, Lucien accidentally dig his fingers into Aiden's shoulder. He was squeezing his small shoulders, almost right into the bone. Instead of crying out in pain, Aiden protectively wrapped his arms around Lucien's nape.
He let Lucien's forehead lean on his chest. Aiden gritted his teeth. It used to be his wish for Lucien to lean on him like this, to depend on him like now. Aiden has always wanted to protect him, just like what Lucien did back at the church.
Yet now, those dreams are crumbling into dust.
