Caroline tried to shut out this matter on her way back. She had to look cheerful in front of Eddison.
He got out of the car and walked to her, before wrapping her into an embrace. He asked, "How was your day? How are you adjusting at work? Did the baby kick you today?"
"I'm fine." She said softly, "The baby is mischievous today; it kicked me several times. I'll let you touch it later."
"Sure." He took her hand as they walked into the house.
In the dining room, he squatted down next to her to listen to her belly movements. After a while, he could feel the baby kicking her belly.
His smile grew wider. The thrill of becoming a father was visible in his expression. Words couldn't describe the joy he was feeling.
With that, his happiness radiated to everyone around him.
He was listening to her belly, whereas she was stroking his hair. His hair was in a spiky style and it didn't feel greasy at all.
As dinner was ready, Beryl was ready to serve the dishes.
