章節 1: Prologue
I need to pull myself together and escape, I need to do as my parents told me and make it out alive.
I glanced around the corner and saw no one there, once I made sure no one was coming from the other end I bolted down the corridor.
"There she is" someone screamed
"Stop her" another yelled
I kept running ignoring the footsteps behind me, I picked up my speed and turned a corner. I saw a maid on the ground up ahead, I ran over to her and got her up off the ground.
"Come on we need to go" I told her
"B-But my f-friend" she cried out
I glanced behind me and saw another girl on the ground, I looked at the girls face. No matter how much my mind was screaming to tell me to leave her behind I ignored it, I grabbed the other girls hand and saw she was hurt.
"Lets got we can treat her wounds after we escape" I told them
"Pick up the pace we can't let them escape"
I looked behind me and saw them gaining on us, I grabbed the girls hands and ran as fast as I could pulling them behind me, I saw the door to the palace up ahead.
I got to the doors and opened them, we ran down the steps and through the court yard, I saw a crowd up a head so I went out the back way. I saw a shop where they had cloaks and no one was there so I grabbed three of them, I put mine on then handed the other two to the girls.
We made our way over to where the crowd was and saw that the palace was being engulfed by flames.
"What's happening"
"Did the royal family make it out"
More people began to mumbled wondering what was happening, the door opened again and out walked to group of people who where responsible for all of this along with the person who planed it all, he was supposed to be a trusted friend of my father but in the end he betrayed my father.
"Attention everyone your Emperor and Queen is dead" he yelled out
"No they can't be"
"Impossible"
"Your lying"
"What about the princess"
People began to scream, he waited for them to stop.
"I'm afraid your princess is dead as well quite sad really she ran away when her parents called out for her to help them" he said with a laugh
Stop lying, I didn't run away. I did what my parents told me before they took there last breath, they told me to run and live so I did and didn't think twice about to, I gripped my mother necklace as I watch my homo go up in flames.
I felt so powerless, I wanted to do something it I couldn't, I can't put my people in danger.
"Let go, we need to find her a doctor" I told the girls
"Okay"
We made our way out of the crowd and down the street to find a doctor.
I'll return one day and bring our kingdom back to how it was before, I'll help you guys and take the throne and rule how my parents did, but I can't right now. There's to many people who want me dead at the moment and I'm not gonna be selfish and be blinded my anger and sadness and take the throne when I know I won't be able to do anything and only make everything worse.
