On the way back home I picked up a nice pair of leather gloves, don't want to get monster ash on my hands anymore.
"I'm back." I call entering the house.
"Welcome back." Hel says with a happy smile still excited about having a familia member.
I take out most of the cash for storing in the safe and pass it to her. "Do you have something I can draw with? I need to make a list and scetch some tools to have made." I ask her.
"Of course!" She digs out some pencils and papers and passes them to me.
"Thank you. I'll be in my room if you need me or just want company." I tell her.
"Let me put this away and then I'll come join you." She says happily waving the money.
Setting up at my desk I start to scetch out dimension of moulds for bullet tips and casings. I'll also have to purchase the raw materials to melf down. Things like lead and brass, I also have to make my own gunpowder.
"I need to get a furnace or a crucible installed too." I mutter. Quite a few items were needed to make bullets.
Hel was sitting in the comfy chair in the corner reading a book with a smile on her face. Occasionally I would see her wiggle happily and smile in my direction.
I sketch out a set of gun cleaning tools and list what they need to be made of, I also write out a list of all the items I need to buy later on. Like a pestle and mortar, did you know materia could be crushed up and the dust added to gunpowder or lead to make magic bullets.
Currently I would be able to make thunder bullets. Cure bullets aren't a thing and Time bullets could accidentally give my enemies a haste ability. But thunder bullets just electrify them.
It takes a few hours but eventually I have everything drawn up. I double check everything I need on my list and go through the bullet making method in my head just to make sure I drew up all the equipment I needed properly. Hopefully they don't fuck things up, I have the proper measurements for everything. I can also make bombs once I have everything set up right, those cool round bombs with the fuze at the top, add in some gun powder and crushed materia dust and I could make magic bombs.
I double and triple check everything as I need to make sure they are all properly measured. If the moulds are made correctly either it could mess up my guns and ruin quite a few things I'll have to double check those once I get them made.
Stacking up all the papers, I'll head over to Hephaestus's workshop tommorow and see how much getting everything made would cost me. I also need to visit an apothecary for scales, bottles and jars. Items needed to mix gunpowder.
"Do you know Hephaestus?" I ask Hel.
"I know her but I'm not really that familiar with her. Do you need something from her?" Hel asks.
"Yes, my items need to be very specifically built if not I could end up harming myself or my equipment so I was hoping to have her build some of the parts personally." I tell her truthfully. "If the measurements are even a tiny bit off it could be disastrous. As in literally blowing up in my face bad."
Hel thinks for a moment. "We could go visit my sister, she is familiar with Hephaestus and might be able to help." Hel suggests. "Plus I haven't seen her in a while and want to show her I got a familia member."
"Sure, we can do that tomorrow, get a price check on everything see if I have enough or I'm lacking. Check how long everything would take to make, just put in some pre orders and get some items made." She nods her head with a smile. "Do you mind showing me the cellar?"
"Sure!" She says quickly closing her book.
I tuck my papers into my desk drawer and follower her out. There is a door that leads to the cellar downstairs.
Luckily it isnt wet or anything, it's made completely of stone and rather cool and dry which was a plus, should help with some heat from the forge I plan to put in. It's basically just a large square stone room with a stone support in the middle. The only way in is through the house so its perfect for a workshop.
"This will do perfect! Once I save up some more I can get some workbenches and other items and make it a proper workshop." I say happily.
"I'm glad you like it!" Hel is equally as happy.
"Well that's all I needed for now. Just had to make sure this place was dry. If it was wet and damp i might have had some problem. Let's head back upstairs, I'll do some equipment maintenance and then we can just relax." I tell Hel who nods.
Back upstairs I take out my cleaning tools and clean my broadsword, make sure it doesn't have any monster gunk on it, oil it, and then check the blade for any nicks, same for my dagger, need to make sure that thing is sharp and clean or it could cause me some problems getting my monster cores. Those things are already annoying enough to get without losing my knife or breaking it on accident.
Hel just sat quietly with her books, so far she was the ideal goddess, quiet, cute and helpful.
After I was done with my weapon maintenance I spent part of the night talking with Hel, before she went to bed. I didn't require any sleep so I just stayed up making a shopping list. Even if we can't meet with Hephaestus I can still pick up other things I need from different shops.
