They reached the stands as Madison kisses Kaitlyn leaving her breathless. Madison walks over to the team, they were all mumbling when she showed up. Kaitlyn sat down on the stands.
"Girls, we got to get ready for the football game and the pep rally." said Ms. Harper the cheerleading coach.
Everyone listened to Ms. Harper explaining the importance of the pep rally, Madison sat cross legged staring up at Kaitlyn smiling.
"Ms. Somers?" Ms. Harper said.
"Huh? Yeah?" Madison replied blinking her eyes and looked at her.
"Come on and start it already." Ms Harper responded with a chuckle also rolling her eyes.
"Okay." Madison replied standing up.
Kaitlyn zoned out thinking about Prom also with any detail of what could happen between her and Madison. She became so enthralled with her thoughts that she didn't hear someone sneak up behind her until the person coughed.
Kaitlyn turned around to be face to face with Chris Hughes, he towered over her, she stared up at him knowing the saying the taller they are, the harder they would fall.
"What the heck do you want?" Kaitlyn said hissing.
"My girl back that's what, you are the one that came between us." Chris replied closing his hand into a fist.
"I haven't done shit, plus she doesn't want you. Have you ever thought of that?" Kaitlyn responded as she stood up.
"What makes you think she wants you?" Chris asked.
"Fact is she tells me, has she ever told you?" Kaitlyn replied with a smile.
"Whatever." Chris responded rolling his eyes.
Chris turned around then turned back around quickly with a right jab to Kaitlyn's jaw, she stumbled back then regained her balance, she ducked and came back up with a upper cut. All the girls screamed and pointed up. Ms. Harper is running up the bleachers, shouting as she went.
"Knock it off!" Ms. Harper shouted.
Ms. Harper stepped in between the two, Kaitlyn backed off when Madison came up and stood beside her.
"What is going on here?" Ms. Harper asked them both.
"It is all her fault." Chris replied.
"Bullshit, he started it." Kaitlyn responded.
"I don't care who started it, I want to know why you are fighting up here? Can one of you tell me that?" Ms. Harper asked sharply,
"I didn't do anything, she came up and started shoving me." Chris replied with whimpers.
"Is that true?" Ms. Harper looking at Kaitlyn for a response.
"No ma'am, he swung at me first and I have only defended myself." Kaitlyn replied staring at Chris.
Kaitlyn could feel her jaw swelling up.
"Ms. Somers, what are you doing up here? You are supposed to be down there." Ms. Harper said.
Madison grabbed Kaitlyn's hand and squeezed it before she headed back down.
"I am going to talk to you one at a time and figure this out, alright Chris you are first." Ms. Harper had Chris follow her.
Kaitlyn watched as they walked over to the other side of the bleachers outside of earshot, she wasn't sure what was going to happen, sighing she waited, would she actually believe her? Chris walked back over and smiled, it is now Kaitlyn's turn so she walked over to where Ms. Harper is to discuss this situation that Chris started.
"Tell me from the beginning on what happened?" Ms. Harper said.
"I would say that I was day dreaming about someone when he came up behind me, accusing me of something that wasn't true and then he punched me. I had to defend myself, I know that what I did is wrong, I do apologize for interrupting your practice." Kaitlyn replied looking down at her feet.
"What is you're name?" Ms. Harper asked.
"Kaitlyn Tisdale, ma'am." Kaitlyn replied looking at her.
"I can tell you are under quite a bit of stress, I must say that I do believe you but I don't want something like this to happen again out here. I don't mind if you watch or anything just please no beating up other students." Ms. Harper responded patting Kaitlyn on the shoulder with a smile.
"Yes ma'am, I will." Kaitlyn replied smiling back.
Kaitlyn walked away, heading down to meet up with Madison, who already had the Prom tickets in her hand as she is tucking them into her notebook when she saw Kaitlyn heading in her direction.
"Everything alright?" Madison asked.
"Yes, don't worry, sorry didn't mean to cause a scene." Kaitlyn replied.
"I know it wasn't you're fault, trust me I know how he can be." Madison responded.
"Yes, I do agree." Kaitlyn replied frowning.
Kaitlyn grabbed Madison's hand, she pulled her into her arms, Chris watched as they kissed, everyone that's still there watched and slowly pulling away Kaitlyn saw that they were all staring. Madison grabbed Kaitlyn's hand pulling her along to follow.
"Ms. Somers." Ms. Harper shouted.
"Yes, Ms. Harper?" Madison replied turning back towards Ms. Harper.
"Try not to be late for practice and make sure that she stays out of trouble." Ms. Harper responded as she looked at Kaitlyn.
"Will do." Madison replied smiling.

Next morning, Kaitlyn woke up to startling pain on her side, she clutched her pillow and bit down on her tongue. She reached for her pain medication knocking them off the dresser, and as she got out of bed to grab them, she opened the bottle and took them. After she took her medication she had managed to get ready for school, she left her room, then slowly walked down the stairs hearing her dad and Erin's voices.
"I got a call from someone yesterday about our daughter wanting to go to Prom with another girl." Erin said. "I don't want her to risk anything."
"Honey, why can't you just leave it alone? Let her live her life you don't need to go interfering in it." Ryan replied with anger behind it.
"I do, I would like to have grandchildren you know." Erin responded.
"Sometimes I wish I was gay so I don't have to deal with your shit." Ryan replied chuckling.
Kaitlyn came in. "Just for your information Erin, I can still give you grandchildren."
"You were listening in on our conversation." Erin shouted.
"You were shouting, so you should've figured I would be getting up for school. By the way dad, I don't think you could pull off a gay man but you can do better than Erin." Kaitlyn replied with a smile.
"Are you going to let her say that?" Erin said in a pouting voice to Ryan.
"My dear, she does have a point." Ryan replied with a smile. "You are over reacting, let her live her life the way she wants and let her love who she wants."
Kaitlyn grabbed a apple and went onto the front porch waiting for Madison to show up, she listened to the chirping of the birds just then the car pulled up with Madison behind the wheel.
"Hey babe, good morning." Kaitlyn said with a smile.
"Hey baby, good morning to you too. Don't forget that I have detention so if you want you can wait in the car or whatever. I just can't believe this you know?" Madison replied frowning.
"Yes, I know but I will be waiting on you." Kaitlyn responded reassuring her with a kiss on her cheek.
They pulled up to school, heading inside, the bell rang by the time they got into class.
"Alright everyone, I would like to introduce you to our new student, this is Belle Coyer." Mrs. Lawson said pointing to the new student in the front row.
Kaitlyn looked over at Madison to see that something just had transfixed her onto this Belle person, she nudged Madison and gave her the look like why are you checking her out.
"That's Chris's cousin." Madison said frowning thinking that this isn't a good idea that Belle is here. Belle has been arrested more than once and some how managed to magically get out due to charges being dropped.
"Oh." Kaitlyn replied if she is anything like Chris she knew this wasn't going to be any good.
Just then Kaitlyn looked up to see that Belle is staring straight at her, looking down Kaitlyn didn't know how to take it, she wasn't sure if it is a look of admiration or I know what you did kind of thing. She waited for class to be over so she could put some distance between her and Belle.
As the bell rang class dismissed for Madison to head off to detention and Kaitlyn went to wait in the car. Kaitlyn waited a hour for Madison to get out, so she began her homework when the car door opened.
"Madison, you're done already?" Kaitlyn said.
Kaitlyn lifted her head to look if it is Madison and then saw it is Belle sitting there.
"Can I help you?" Kaitlyn asked looking at Belle.
"You best back off of Madison." Belle replied with a warning.
"Hate to break it to you, it's not going to happen." Kaitlyn responded with a force smile.
"You will if you know what is good for you." Belle replied with a hiss.
"You will get the hell out of this car if you know what is good for you." Kaitlyn responded with a hiss back.
"What are you going to make me or something?" Belle responded with a smirk.
Kaitlyn opened her car door, walked around to the other side, Belle opened her door as she got out as that smile on her face. Kaitlyn held her fist against her side saying,
"You're not worth it."
Belle shoved Kaitlyn from behind then Kaitlyn landed in the rock, pain surging through her body, bracing herself for more of Belle's kicks all over her. At that final moment she could hear Madison.
"Get off of her." Madison shouted.
Belle got into Chris's car then they left, Madison knelt down beside Kaitlyn.
"Are you alright?" Madison said in a soothing voice.
"Yes." Kaitlyn replied as she got up.
Madison looked Kaitlyn up and down her eyes came to rest on Kaitlyn's side, Kaitlyn touched where Madison is looking feeling the blood on her hand, seeing that it came through Kaitlyn's shirt, Madison helped Kaitlyn back into the car and immediately Madison headed to the hospital.
"I just pulled my stitches, please slow down, I am going to live." Kaitlyn said trying to ease Madison's mind.
"What the hell happened?" Madison asked.
"She told me to leave you alone or I was going to pay, so I told her get out of the damn car, I got out and went to her side then I thought about you, I turned around saying it wasn't worth it when she shoved me down from behind also kept kicking me all over." Kaitlyn replied.
"What can I expect of Chris's cousin to bully my girl." Madison responded shaking her head.
"I am not concerned about them at all, let's just get to the hospital and go get ready for Prom especially pick out your dress and my tux." Kaitlyn replied with a flirty smile.
"Of course, baby." Madison responded.
About twenty minutes later they arrived at the hospital as Madison pulled up to the front. "Let me help you in." Madison said placing the car in park.
Kaitlyn allowed Madison to help her, they walked into the emergency room, the nurse on scene saw the bleeding and immediately called for Doctor Kurt Burns, the nurse took Kaitlyn and Madison back to a room, right away sounding like he came running to see Doctor Burns in the doorway.
"Let's have a look Kaitlyn." He said when Kaitlyn pulled up her shirt. "Looks like you ripped out your stitches, I will need to do them over again."
He went out of the room to go get the stuff then came back in with needle, thread and look like a dose of numbing for another needle. He put some rubbing alcohol on where he needed to place the dose as he said,
"Kaitlyn, you will feel a pinch for me to numb you then we will began to stitch you up."
Kaitlyn nodded as she took a deep breath as he injected the needle into her then quickly moved onto stitching the wound closed.
"All set, you are good as new, you just have to be careful and not to open it again." Dr. Burns said giving a warning.
"I know, I am sorry." Kaitlyn replied with a frown, she knew it wasn't her fault though she couldn't tell the doctor it was someone else fault that she got hurt very badly.
"Now be on your way ladies." Dr. Burns responded.
As they got up and left to go get everything they needed for Prom.
