Bethany's POV

It had been a few weeks since everything had spiraled out of control. Since I lost my baby and started distancing myself more from him.

Masons presence was still a constant thorn in my life, and I was still working for him, so it wasn't like I could really avoid him some days.

I was starting to notice things though. Just little things that should be obvious. But it was now and I felt like he was suffocating me. I could feel his eyes on me every damn time I stepped out of the house. Him appearing everywhere I was out of nowhere.

It wasn't the kind of protection I needed. It was the kind of protection that felt like a leash around my neck, pulling me back every time I tried to move forward.
