*HISSS*
Loud hisses came from the inner part of the devil mist forest. A huge azure snake, about 200 meter was spouting loud hisses. Near it was a gruesome sight of blood and flesh spilled everywhere. There were countless other snakes of different species bowing near it The sight if seen by a random person will cause chaos through the nearby empires.
Dozens of snakes nearing 150 metres of height bowed before the angered serpent. It was a horde of disaster class monsters.The disaster class snake's below the Empress were addressed as serpent kings or queens. But they were all trembling under the giant serpen's wrath.
"Hisssss..who was the being that dared to kill salivaar" She asked in an enraged tone. Disaster class monsters were already at the demigod level, which is why they had enough intellect to talk.
The 'salivaar' she was talking about was naturally the kyroserpent emperor Zane had slain earlier.
The other disaster class serpents bowed their trembling heads even more. Clearly they didn't know a thing about it but if they dared to deny it they would definitely become the target of this mad empress.
"Heed my orders...hisssss" She sorted out in a domineering voice

"I smell the scent of humans residing here. Take our armies and cause chaos in the outer part of the forest, rush towards the nearest human empire. They will pay the price for their crimes..hissss. The one who captures that wretched human will be my new mate and the master of the clan."
The serpent kings' eyes shone lustfully as they now looked at their empress.

And thus started one of the most dangerous events through the world, a beast tide. Occasional beast tides were common in the world but this was the start of the world's 3rd, disaster class beast tide.
As the serpents began leaving the place the only one there was the Kyroserpent grand empress, her azure body shone with a mystical light as her body began shrinking.
After shrinking for quite a while what was revealed was a breathtakingly beautiful lady with gorgeous raven hair with blue streaks and a body any man would lust for. This was the human form of the Kyroserpent grand empress. However, the earlier rage could not be seen as all that hung on her face was a disdainful smirk.
"Mere worms lusting after my body. Humph! But anyway it was good riddance getting away from all this engagement bullshit." She said as she kicked a nearby piece of flesh as it burst apart.
"Now all I have to do is cause enough chaos so that I can finally get rid of this forest for good. I wonder how little doll is doing." She smiled a little as she remembered a fond memory of a little girl she knew years ago. The black haired little girl that roamed around calling her 'big sis'.
Her face turned determined, "Oh my dear Ina, although it will be troublesome to look for you, I will definitely find you."
Oblivious to her fangirl starting a beast tide to meet her, Carsina was clinging on Zane as he tried pushing her back, "Get off me dammit!"
"Noooo I have changed my mind. I don't want to get separated from Sir Zane."
Carsina hugged him tightly from the back. Zane could feel the soft feeling from the princess's bountiful chest as he sighed,
"Fine but not more than a week after that I won't care even if you beg me."
"Yay, Sir Zane is the best." Carisna said as she smiled childishly but her expression turned sour when she remembered the previous incident "Humph! Who does the old man think he is. I have just survived a dangerous assassination due to his negligence but he has the nerve to yell at me."
"Um. Your father, The Emperor."
"Ugh! You didn't have to be so blunt about it you know."
Carsina said gloomily as she sat down on a nearby chair. Carsina knew her father was worried after hearing that she was almost killed in the devil mist forest but his personality made him seem as if the words he wanted to convey with concern, came out as an all out decree to lock her down in the palace.
They were currently in the city hall's guest room as Edward couldn't just arrange the princess's room in any random inn. Zane was with her for her protection as they have noticed some suspicious people roaming around them the last two days they have been here.
When the emperor got carsina's video message through magic crystal ball.
He wasn't the only one who got informed of her whereabouts, the hateful Duke Raspburg's people planted in the palace too heard about the matter which eventually reached the fatty's ears.
Zane and Carsina were chatting or rather Carsina was the one ranting as Zane kept his indifferent face as he nodded a few times. That was when Edward burst through the door shocking Carsina.
His face looked pale and anxious as he said, "Your Highness, we have to leave. Immediately!"
"Calm down Edward, tell me what happened?" Carsina was back in her act.
"Y-your highness I apologize for my rudeness. But it's an urgent matter. It seems there will be a massive beast tide in a few days." Edward replied hurriedly.
"A beast tide! How big exactly. And of what rank." Carsina asked
"Tens of thousands and our scout have informed that there may be more than one disaster class at the back leading them. According to our estimates they will be arriving within 3 days." Edward was sweating profusely.
Carsina kept her calm but she was panicking a lot inside.
She turned around to look at Zane only to see him looking out of the window calmly without a care. Her eyes lit up.
"Sir Zane, could you-"
"Don't even think about it. I can't care any less about this beast tide. The sole reason I am here 'with you' is because you have managed to draw my interest." Zane had an emotionless look on his face as he interrupted Carsina.He was someone who has watched many great civilizations end before his very eyes, there was no way he would be moved just because of some mortals who aren't even related to him. The only reason he saved Carsina was because of the spell she chanted although it sounded embarrassing but this spell made him want to protect her unconsciously as if he was bound to her. He felt a familial origin within her one he had only sensed once through his entire life. But even so he couldn't tell what it was.
Edward at the side was dejected because he knew that not everyone can be unselfish and risk their lives for people they don't even know.
He understood Zane's situation. He bowed his head as he looked at Zane, "Young master Zane, I dare not ask you to risk your life for us but could you please take her highness away and keep her safe."
Zane looked at the loyal follower who thought of his master's life before his and nodded, "That, I can do"
Edward let out a sigh of relief as his eyes with determination. "Then I can assuredly go and prepare for the tide. Farewell."
Carsina wanted to say something but didn't as she realized that she couldn't force Zane, as he was already doing her a favor by following her here and keeping her safe.
She thought of the casualties that will be occurring due to this. The many children that will be orphaned. She pondered over this seriously. She decided she couldn't let this happen.
She shook her head as she looked straight into the man's indifferent eyes, "I am unwilling."
"Huh?" Zane looked at her. He saw her for the first time showing her true self and demanding something from him right from her heart. Her eyes were staring right into his.
"I am unwilling to leave my subjects here to die to those vile beasts. But I don't have the power to save them. So.."
""So please help me.""
Her unwavering gaze as her eyes slowly turned rather red. The determination and will to protect her people even when she knows that she can just run away. Her voice echoed in Zane's mind as a scene flashed through his golden eyes.
A woman so beautiful that even the heavens would be jealous of her. She was staring right at him as she held a bloodied scepter in her hands. They were in the middle of a war zone. Thousands of corpses of vicious monsters were lying at her feet. Her eyes were the same, they were looking right into his. He saw a man in her eyes. A man with a flawles face with silver hair and purple eyes. He stood there emotionlessly wearing a pure white robe. The woman looked at him with a determined expression. There was blood sliding down the woman's lips as he saw her enchanting lips move
"....so please help me."
Zane's eye widened as he was struck with a head ache, he held his head and backed down a bit. Carsina got worried as she walked over to help him.
"Sir Zane are you alright?" She panicked, did something happen to him, was he injured?
"No...I am okay. I just remembered something." Zane calmed himself down. Seeing him fine, she didn't say anything. She feared that he was not well and giving him more stress just for her sake was not worth it. As she turned around to leave.
A big warm arm caught her hand. She looked around to see Zane holding her hand and looking at her albeit with a gentle smile this time. It was a genuine one she knew it.
"I will help out."
Zane said as he let go of her hand.
Just that was enough. Carsina smile happily as she rushed out, "I will inform Edward immediately.
Zane closed the door after her.
His expression changed as he slid down slowly to the floor.His pupils shimmering between mysterious purple and the majestic gold.
'That memory, I am sure I never had one like that in my entire life. And that man, was that me. But how?'
Zane decided to drop the matter, he stood up as he said, "Since I have decided to help I can't just sit around. Let's see which son of a b*tch is causing this ruckus."
The void rippled in front of him as he stepped in.
