"Oh, and Richard came over?" She said, her words causing Aurora to halt in her tracks.
"Richard?" Aurora repeated with a questioning look, turning to face her mother. "What did he want?" She asked, her face scrunched in disgust. It had been almost a month since she last saw him. Although the last few weeks hadn't been the best, it was still less annoying knowing she didn't see him regularly.
"What else," her mother stated with a sigh. "He's still being persistent about the engagement."
"But you didn't agree, did you!" Aurora raised her voice, her hands fisted at her sides, not liking the turn of the conversation. "I already told him no, and I am not changing my mind."
Her mother held up her hands in defense. "I know you told him no, and I support your decision. But he's not listening. You know he won't give up easily."
