Two teams, in two different carriages, left for the investigation as planned. Evelyn sat opposite to Elric and the carriage began moving towards the village. Elric's stoic expression caught her attention, and she wondered what he was thinking back in the cabin. Being curious about it she decided to ask about it.
"What were you thinking in the cabin?" She asked.
Elric's gaze shifted from the window to her. "I think about many things, Miss Evelyn. Be clear about when," he commented.
She sighed mentally and replied, "When Alfred was informing how he survived the task."
"What do you mean?" With his brows furrowed, he inquired.
She understood, he didn't like the topic she was pressing. And now that she had asked him that, there was no returning back. His displeasure with the topic was evident on his face.
Gulping the fear, she replied, "By looking at you, I felt you were concerned about something. Therefore I asked."
