"Do you really not understand what I'm doing?" Nathan asked Ava, his gaze deep and searching.

"I don't care about what you're doing, and I don't want to understand. I just want you not to interfere with my life," Ava responded coldly, her expression as frosty as her tone.

Nathan pressed his lips together, his look one of regret as he faced Ava. "I know what's upsetting you. I only found out today about the issue with Kevin Lewis. It wasn't my directive, but regardless, I caused it and I owe you an apology."

"No need!" Ava scoffed, perceiving it as just another one of Nathan's manipulations—a slap followed by a sweet date.

"Ava, I genuinely want to make it up to you." Seeing Ava unmoved, Nathan grew frustrated. He hadn't anticipated things would spiral out like this.
