"I remember you gave me the phone, but I can't recall where I put it," Evelyn said, looking a bit flustered.
Nathan sighed, a little helpless. It was normal for his grandmother to forget things at her age; it was his fault for giving a phone to someone with a poor memory.
"Grandma, don't worry. Take your time to think; you might be able to find it."
Just then, Natalie, now dressed, suddenly appeared behind them. "Grandma, you forgot—you handed the phone to me."
Nathan narrowed his eyes upon hearing this. Earlier, in the inner chamber, Natalie had exposed herself because of the phone's vibration, and he hadn't realized it was his phone.
"Then why didn't you just return it to me when you saw it?" Nathan said darkly as he took the phone from her.
Natalie looked uneasy. "I was too scared at the time, so I forgot. I'm really sorry; it wasn't intentional."
