Patrick Hill, appearing slightly impatient, pushed the woman aside and licked his molars, a mischievous glint in his eye. "I don't need you telling me what to do."

The woman looked at Patrick, puzzled and unsure of what she had done to upset him. "What's wrong?"

"I have something to take care of. You head back first. I'll call you later." Without another word, Patrick strode towards the café. He wasn't worried about Ava; he was just looking for some entertainment, or so he told himself.

"Hey, what a coincidence! Didn't expect to see you again so soon." Patrick greeted Nathan with a casual wave as he approached Ava.

Nathan's expression darkened upon seeing Patrick. He ignored Patrick and tightened his grip on Ava's arm.

"Let go of me!" Ava demanded, anger flaring in her eyes.

Patrick smirked, then swatted Nathan's hand away and pulled Ava behind him protectively. Nathan's anger boiled over.
