章節 21: Demon vs Priests
Inside the bathroom, Father Miller is washing his hands. He looks at himself in the mirror and then sighs to himself. After rinsing his hands, he shuts off the water, using the squeaky-installed faucet. Father Miller dries his hands off with a white towel and then opens the bathroom door to walk out. He immediately walks back toward the bedroom.
Re-entering Isaiah's room, Father Miller sees Father Matthews face-down on his bed. His eyes widen, and his breathing gets heavy. He then wonders what could have gone on while he was in the bathroom. Isaiah sits with his back against the head of his bed as he watches Father Miller gently pull Father Matthews down to the floor. He quickly begins to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Father Matthews but fails to bring him back to life. Father Matthews is now pronounced dead from the murder of Isaiah. Seconds later, Father Miller hears an evil cackle from Isaiah, then turns toward him.
"Motherfucker!" Father Miller shouts as he grabs him and pulls him to the floor.
Father Miller begins to punch him in the head violently and then aggressively shakes and strangles him.
"Vanish elsewhere! God damn you! Take someone else!"
Suddenly, Isaiah powerfully throws up the spirit of his demon, causing him to regulate himself slowly. With a blink, Isaiah's eyes turn from bloody red to hazelnut brown, and his voice slowly regulates to normal. As Isaiah regulates into himself again, Mr. Miller notices.
"Isaiah?" Mr. Miller asks, feeling relieved and accomplished.
He gets up from on top of Isaiah.
Frightened sobs and whimpers from Isaiah's soul are let out, followed by his mom and older sister curiously rushing into the room.
Immediately, Kim hears the genuine cries from her son. She dashes over to where Isaiah is with her heart pounding in her chest; she then drops onto the floor, wrapping her arms around her son, crying dramatically in relief and whispering words of comfort.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" She asks Isaiah with tears rolling down her face.
"I'm fine. I just felt like I was in a nightmare." Isaiah replies.
"Well, it's all over you hear me? The nightmare is over." She says, hugging him tight.
She then quickly kisses him on his head.
Her tears of fear quickly turn into tears of joy.
"I love you, okay?" She says.
Isaiah nods his head in his mom's arms.
As Kim continues to soothe her son, Gwenn looks at Father Matthews' dead body and then at Mr. Miller. After glancing at Gwenn with a heavy breath, Mr. Miller returned to Kim and Isaiah, still sobbing in relief. Isaiah is finally free from the evil spirits that have manipulated him for so long.
