章節 46: Chapter 46: The Malcolm effect
" Not even a 'thank you'? " Kendrell asked the lady with a scoff after he handed her the parcel.
" You didn't have a choice. If it wasn't for Ms Lauryn, you wouldn't have_ "
" Nevermind. You can leave now." Kendrell said to the overly dramatic lady, Edna.
" What if I don't?" Edna asked, crossing her arms.
" Feel free to stay." Kendrell said before he turned to leave, with a look of indifference.
" Hey. Wait up." Edna said.
Walking up to Kendrell who exhaled before stopping, Edna halted her steps as well.
Turning to face her, Kendrell quirked his brows, expecting her to speak up first, as she should.
Edna opened her mouth to speak up, but she didn't know what to say. So she pursed her lips. Then she opened her mouth again,
" Ha_ "
" What?" Kendrell asked.
" Wha_ H_ "
" Young lady are you okay? Who the fuck did I offend to deserve all this for Pete's sake?" Kendrell asked no one in particular, groaning, in a sinfully hot manner.
'Damn! That's how he groans?!' Edna thought inwardly, feeling her heartbeat race.
She didn't know what to say, but she knew it could not be the last time she'd see him.
Her actions towards him when they bumped into each other, was sort of her character to literally anyone on a normal day. But after taking a good look at him once he turned, it became a thing of putting up a strong front. She thought he was going to admire her for being fierce or feisty, whatever he would tag that as, but seeing his indifference towards her, she decided to obey her heart?... probably her heart or her flesh maybe.
She wanted to see him again, and she didn't know how to go about that. So maybe she was just going to lead him into a light conversation, so she could somehow find out when he next would visit his friend. Maybe that'll do.
But what was she going to say to him now?...
' Just say whatever Ed' She said to herself. Clearing her throat she opened her mouth and said anything
" You_ Fuck." No! Her eyes widened in horror! She didn't intend to say that at all!
But with a neutral expression, Kendrell replied,
" I do. Why do you ask?"
He had what it took to be crazy too. Or maybe it was just the Malcolm effect? Who knows...
" No! That's not I what I meant. I meant umm... I meant, Fuck sounds really sexy_ I mean, you sound really sexy when you say..."
" When I say what?" Kendrell asked, like he had no idea what the word was.
" When you say fuck." She answered, shyly.
" Hmm. I see. Thanks. Can I go now?" Kendrell asked, out of courtesy.
" Umm. Yeah_ I mean No. Umm, you see I'll be visiting my brother everyday, he's in the ICU. I was wondering, if that's appropriate. I just wan_"
" Yeah, it is. Unless you don't want to. I have to leave now." Kendrell said since he still needed to check up on his sleeping friend. He didn't want to tell Edna about that anyways.
" Ok then. Bye." Edna said with a smile Kendrell didn't notice.
" Bye." He replied before he turned and left.
Edna watched his straight back disappear with a smile, as he took a turn. Sighing, Edna now had a grin on her face as she remembered what happened moments ago.
Including his groan, and how he casually admitted to...
The grin on her face widened as her lower abdomen reacted to the thought of moaning under him.
At this point, even if it meant getting closer to Malcolm's family, she was going to do it, just so she could see the a-devil-may-care looking guy. Maybe they could even end up doing more than that. Edna thought with a wider grin as she thought of all the things they could do alone.
The way he would whisper and groan in her ears, while his hands would do wonders on her body. Her cheeks reddened at the thought of that and so she held both her hands to her cheeks while blushing furiously.
' I'm gonna instruct him to go fas_ "
" Are you okay miss?" a doctor who was passing by asked.
" Huh?"
" Are you okay?"
" Oh. Yes. Yes I am. Excuse me." Edna said before she skedaddled, thanking the stars it wasn't a mental facility.

When Kendrell was finally allowed to see Malcolm, he sat next to him before sighing through the mask.
Sighing, he began talking to Malcolm.
First, he briefed him on the latest improvement with Rollins. He was going to start the brief training in a matter of days, before also finalizing the agreement.
Exhaling, he couldn't take his mind off his encounter with Morticia.
She was all up in his mind before he sighted Edna, who eventually came back for her parcel.
'' How can someone be so dramatic?" Kendrell seemingly asked Malcolm, forgetting Edna was even more dramatic. But, what he didn't remember, to him, never happened or existed.
" And the look on her face..." Kendrell said with a chuckle.
" I'm sure if you were with me, you would have suggested we made a tomato painting, since the inspiration was right in front of us." he added with a grin.
Oh, how the Malcolm effect was really rubbing off on him! Or maybe it was just activated? Who knows...
" I didn't know ladies could still be so shy and embarrassed hearing things like that." he said before actually laughing. Yes laughing.
Wait! He was actually laughing! The fuck!
If he could remember clearly, he was grinning widely before he laughed. Wow. Just wow.
Facepalming at his non deliberate laughter, Kendrell sighed.
" Bro you had better wake up now. Don't make me loose it before you wake up from this slumber." Kendrell suggested to his sleeping friend and brother.
" You know dude, I've always told you you're an asshole, even when I first saw you on this goddamn bed. But now that days has gone by, now that I actually feel your absence.... I still think you're an asshole. Hurry up and get your lazy ass off the bed. See you in the evening." Kendrell said before standing up to leave.
Again, the Malcolm effect.
