But she did not regret it.

And she was not willing to be anyone's toy. 

She was not going to be played around by him only to be killed in the end. 

If he was holding a grudge, then he could finish her off right there and then. 

If not, then she did not want anything to do with this man who clearly had dubious motives. 

As the silence drawled, Esme felt her palms turning sweaty. 

Her eyes were still closed but the man was not budging an inch from his spot. 

She could not hear his footsteps at all.
