章節 40: Chapter 40: Times up.
After putting down Lilith, Trini asked her 'Mother' to send Lilith's soul to reincarnation. Or it will be sent to Kur which is the domain of Ereshkigal. Even though Trini wanted to release Ereshkigal, she does not have a good feeling towards anyone in that pantheon. She was only able to tolerate Ereshkigal because she tried to save Tiamat's soul in Kur, so that she will be able to stay with Ereshkigal also she will not be forgotten.
But after hearing Lilith's plight, even though she is more like Innana, she is one of their siblings. So, if they can abandon their blood easily, then there is no need for them to have such a poor soul.
Trini also asked to erase the memories of Lilith's soul without any chance of remembering her past life. Trini wish that Lilith could have a loving and fulfilling life.
Pyran and Trini buried Lilith in Eternity, in the hall of Fallen. Even though she is not a Chaos Original, she is in some way the ancestor of Pyran and Niece of Trini. After burying her there, Trini stayed near the grave for a week without moving. She was feeling down and was unable to take the picture of Lilith's crying face out of her mind. She did not understand or never wanted to understand the kind of pain that Lilith went through, for her to cry like that.
Pyran understood Trini's mind and he knew that she was still morning for Lilith. Once the week passed, Trini came back to their home at Kuoh town. Trini was still in a sad mood. Everyone tried to cheer her up. It did make her a bit happy. After a week, Pyran took trini on a Date.
During the Date, Trini slowly got out of the depressed state. By the end of the date, she was back to her bright and cheerful self. But she did mature a bit after Lilith's incident. At the end, Pyran took her their private Lake for the dinner. When they finished the dinner, Pyran spoke to Trini in a serious tone,
"Trini, I know that you still are hurt due to the struggle face by Lilith. And I do know you trust me with your life but you have some 'what if' in the corner of your mind. But I don't want to have any small doubts in our relationship.
So, Trini, I pledge in the name of Anki, if I betray you in any form that might scar you for life, may my soul be destroyed without the possibility of rebirth."
Once Pyran finished his vow, the sky rumbled and a golden chain came from the void and directly invaded his soul and got locked inside it.
This made Trini cry. She now knew that it was foolish have doubts about their relationship. She unknowingly made Pyran worried and forced him to take a terrifying oath to prove his dedication. This should not have happened if not for her foolish doubts. She jumped at Pyran and started to throw punches his chest at a force that might kill a Chaos class and say,
"You stupid Pyran! Idiot! Fool! Why did you do that?!!! Why would you do that?!! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! And I love you!!"
She started to cry, apologize and profess her love again and again. She did it for almost an hour before calming down. She then hugged him and stayed like that for one more hour. She then suddenly took her distance, which made pyran worried but before he could ask anything, Trini started to speak,
"Pyran I shouldn't have doubted your love for me. So, I pledge in the name of Anki, if I betray you in any form that might scar you for life, may my soul be destroyed without the possibility of rebirth."
The same thing happened to Trini which occurred earlier to Pyran. But this time there was a new chain that bounded both the vows and connected them. This chain will first analyse the truth and the intention before dealing the punishment. This was made by the plane, so that both might not get obliterated due to a misunderstanding. Somewhere in the void,
[Seriously! These kids! Always worrying even after growing up.]
Pyran then gently smiled and held Trini's hand. To lighten the mood that was getting depressed in a faster pace, he said, "Hope this vow will not act just because I lied to you because of a surprise. Man! That will be awkward." The earlier sombre mood went away and Trini giggled at the joke. They both then teleported to their home and then they greedily went after each other's body.
The next Moring both woke up and took a week off again. Since Alex could manage all the work, they just instructed him to call for them if they need them there. Even then, they only planned to send a clone.
After Breakfast they started to check the recent happenings. They have gone for almost a month. They started to check the things they missed during this month. As per the information, there was no change in the first half month but in the last 2 weeks there were lot of activities.
The canon started and Issei became the devil and everything followed the same as in the canon. Asia will be coming tomorrow to the town. This is when Rias's Peerage will attack the church where the fallen angels are gathered.
Trini said, "We will save the poor girl tomorrow." The she said in a serious tone, "I think it is time to put an end to the Sumerian Pantheon. They have over stayed their visit already."
Trini was fed up with all the news that she heard about the Pantheon. She decided that she will take care of the problem one and for all. Pyran, after seeing how broken Lilith was, decided that it was enough. The most unbelievable fact is that the Sumerian gods were able to feel if Lilith was alive or dead. They could also use that link to search for her and rescue her. And if they took the information to the devils, they will surely help, even if it is for their own hidden motives.
Pyran and Trini then started to prepare for the battle. Trini called in Tiamat for the confrontation. She will surely complain if Trini left her out of this confrontation. Before starting, Trini wanted to talk with Ereshkigal about her stance. She shared her plan with Tiamat and she agreed too. Pyran was only there for support as he informed them both that this is their battle and they will do all the planning and clean up. He will only be there for support. He also restricted them to use only Original-level power during this confrontation.
And regarding the fallen angels and Asia, Pyran assigned the mission to Inari and Hanami. This will be a test for them and Alex will be their backup and judge. They can do whatever they seemed fit for the situation. The end result will be left for Alex, Trini and Pyran to judge. In case of any mishap, Alex will only step in when they are in life threatening situation.
The next day, Trini, Pyran and Tiamat left towards Mesopotamia. They will come back in a day or two after finishing everything. First thing they did was to barge into Kur to meet with Ereshkigal. They were not even subtle about the invasion. As soon as they went in, all the guards and Gods were able to feel them.
Ereshkigal was having a bad day. A month ago, she felt one of her siblings die. She knew who it was. She had been trying get her other siblings to save Lilith from where ever she was and bring her back to Garden of Gods. Initially they were afraid of Yahweh. But after the great war, she tried to save her again as she got the news that Yahweh was injured severely after the battle. But her siblings still refuse to budge.
After an investigation, she got to know that Inanna was the one who convinced the others to let go of Lilith as both She and Lilith entail same divinity but under different form. Inanna wanted the whole divinity to herself, so she played her games to let the others abandon Lilith. This enraged Ereshkigal but she was unable to do anything as she cannot be away from Kur for a long time.
But when she felt Lilith's death, which she was sure all her sibling felt, she really wanted to go there and start her own tantrum. But when she did not even get the soul of Lilith to come down to Kur, she believed that Lilith completely lost faith and her soul was either erased or taken by someone else.
So, when the invasion happened, she was sure that the invaders are those who took Lilith's soul. She was ready to face the battle to death if it meant saving Lilith from their hands. She then heard her door to her throne room blown. She was able to see two women and a man coming in with the women taking the lead. All the guards were knocked out as she can still feel their vitality.
Ereshkigal turned to the invaders and asked, "Who are you? What do you want? And how dare you barge in here?"
"Well, don't you feel superior when you talk like that! It seems you still not aware that you are at a disadvantage here." It was Tiamat who responded. She then turned to Trini and said, "Do we have to knock some sense into her before we talk?"
Trini was having a headache regarding Tiamat's antics. Ever since they started to plan for revenge, Tiamat was at all-time high. She was very excited to seek revenge for her mother. If not for the reminder of Pyran, Tiamat might've killed all the guards.
Trini then said in a tired tone, "Like I said earlier, we are here to see where Ereshkigal stands. It's not like she was going anywhere. So can you please simmer down and let me do the talking?"
Tiamat, although unwilling, pouted and let Trini do what they came to do. Trini then turned to Ereshkigal and said, "I'm Trinity Hexaron. Following me are My fiancé Pyranos and The Chaos Karma Dragon, Tiamat. You might have an inkling of what are we here for but let me explain. Your mother, Primordial Goddess of Water and life, Tiamat, is my sister. I'm here for the explanation of why she was killed with no way for reincarnation along with her husband. And also, for the explanation regarding Lilith."
Ereshkigal was going through various expressions and then finally sighed and said, "I'm not sure what you are hoping to hear regarding them both. But, if you want answers, you could've gone straight to the Garden of gods. Why come to me?"
Trini replied, "You have got it all wrong. We have come for revenge. But after speaking with Mother, I got to know that out of all the Sumerian gods, you are the only sane person among the pantheon that is eligible for forgiveness. I just wanted to know your side of story before proceeding. But make no mistake, I will still kill all the others. Just wanted to know if I should kill you too or let you go with a punishment." The she flared her power.
Ereshkigal's body tensed and she was unable to handle the pressure and knelt down. She knew that it was the end of their pantheon after feeling her power. She sighed again and stood up after Trini ceased to flare her power. Before she could talk, Tiamat said,
"And don't try to lie or hide the details. Her fiancé here has the power to know if you are lying or hiding something. You can try but you will lose the chance to speak for yourselves. We will just go through your memories after immobilizing you."
After that statement, Ereshkigal sighed again and started to talk, "Form the day that my brother told me he felt mother's power, I knew this day would come. The wait was already killing me. Okay, let me start from the beginning …"
Ereshkigal started from when they were wreaking havoc on earth. They were all enjoying testing their power and conquering each other's territory on earth. But that was not the reason for their parents' drastic action. After the few centuries of battling and testing their powers, they slowly started to hurt each other more and it went to the point where Enil and Enki started to kill their siblings. Tiamat and Abzu did punish them for that and since Ereshkigal had their souls, Tiamat was able to bring them back to life. But the raise of power of Enki and Enil planted a seed of greed inside them all.
So, after few more centuries, they started to fall back to killing other siblings for power. It went to the point where they formed factions and started to hunt down others and war against other factions. And finally, when few of them felt a drastic raise of power after absorbing the divinity of their killed sibling or children, things got out of hands to the point where they started absorbing the souls. This made them go crazy for power.
Their Pantheon was supposed to have a huge population but only the most powerful of each faction survived because the death of their children and grandchildren led Tiamat and Abzu to the decision of killing them all so that they could start over. After the death of Abzu, Tiamat tried to take back the powers given to them which made them go against their mother. Which then led to their mother creating dragons and monsters to battle them.
".… It was after few centuries after killing mother, did I realize what we have done. I tried to search for mother's soul. But I was too late as my bothers took my mother's womb and started to absorb the power. But mother knew this would happen, so she set a timer for her soul to disperse her divinity after her death.
Then after few eons Gaia came into existence. She gave birth to lot of gods and Yahweh was one of them. After sealing Trihexa, we got to know his power and my sibling were afraid of him since then. That was why after he cursed Lilith, they did not move a muscle to save her and even imprisoned me in Kur so that I will not take any action. Even after innumerable times of the pleads to save her, they did not do anything. They were more focused on their pleasure and enjoyment. Inanna and Enil were one of the reasons for this to happen."
After her explanation, Trini, Tiamat and Pyran found that it was bad choice for not mascaraing the pantheon earlier.
Trini was enraged of their actions. After getting her emotion in check, she turned to Ereshkigal and said, "I will give you two choices. One, I will leave you alive with your divinity intact but I will bound you eternally to this Realm. After I kill your pantheon, your job is to manage their souls to reincarnation into mortals. They will not be able to achieve immortality and will reincarnate as mortals till end of time. Two, I will send you along with them."
When she heard the options, Ereshkigal got into a dilemma. All said and done, she is still a god and she enjoyed the power that came with the status. She did not want to lose that and she wished the same for her siblings. So, she asked, "Is there any way possible for negotiation. We are will join you faction and sever under you. I can convince my sibling. You can also follow me to the Garden of gods."
Trini, Tiamat and Pyran looked at each other as if they were communicating. Then Trini turned to Ereshkigal and sighed. Then she said, "If you would've chose the first option, I would have added few restrictions and let you manage their souls. For the second option, I would've forgiven you and would've let you ascend after few eons. But you have selected neither and chose to negotiate. It seems all my good will for you went to waste. You are the same as your siblings." After finishing her statement, Trini started a spell. There was a blinding light after the spell was completed.
Ereshkigal was only able to see a blinding light. Before she can prepare herself, everything went to dark. Her last thoughts were, 'Ahhhh, it seems Sumerian Pantheon will cease to exist from now on. I should've chosen either of the options. Well, it is too late for regrets. I can only…..'
