“Your deck, did you rearrange it as we told you to?” Tan repeated himself while Nicki frowned and looked at the newly joined party member.
The oldest member raised his eyebrows and seemed to realize something. “Oh! It completely slipped my mind...” he giggled.
“As expected…” someone reprimanded.
“As command…I’ll do it right away,” Edward said as he opened the card inventory, then set up a new deck from his large pile of cards according to what they had told him.
“Why did you let him join your party? You should take him to grind level with low-level monsters, so he can level up faster.” Nicki turned to Tan and Blanche.
The guys looked at each other and shook their heads. “We’ve tried…” Tan replied. “No matter how weak the monsters are, he can always find a way to die. If we had to give him a point for fighting skill, we'd give him a minus.”
“He once threw an axe at himself,” Blanche said depressingly.
Nicki was shocked. She had no idea there was a player like this in the world. Noticing that the new party member was arranging his deck while flirting with a girl, she sighed. “Well…I don’t know what to say about him. Just let him take EXP from us, though it isn't much, at least it is better than death,” she said and shook her head.
“I have a question.” Tan turned to Nicki. “In this game, it’s all about having strong cards, right? We don’t have to care about levels.”
The only girl in the group sighed. “Supposed you are that guy.” She pointed at Edward. “Level 3, got 10-star card…do you think you have enough MP to use it? Let’s say…you do. Now, you go up against someone who has an 8-star card, but they have enough MP to use Magic cards to support themself. The low-level player with strong cards is sure to lose. It’s like owning a sports car but not having enough money for gas. Also, even though they have the same card, the Summon of the high-level player will be stronger than the low-level player.”
Tan thought about what she said and pouted his lips. “Yeah…a strong card is like a sports car, and MP is like money for gas, but the idea of high-level players can summon a stronger monster is just like…discrimination.” He seemed to understand it more. “What about Area Cards? Those cards are very powerful and have no downsides,” he asked while Blanche kept looking at the girl.
“You put them in your deck carelessly and people will take them away when you are in the Red Zone,” replied Nicki.
“Red Zone?” Tan wondered.
“Our destination will no longer be in a starter town zone. From now on, players can attack each other without having to send a request. A town is a safe zone. You can fight in a town if you want. There’s a small arena for those who enjoy fighting,” she explained.
“That means it’s very dangerous to always have Area Cards in your deck,” he questioned.
“Totally!” Nicki exclaimed.
“What do you do then?” Blanche joined the conversation.
The girl pouted her lips. “Easy…just use another deck,” she answered. “It will be a different story if you have several Area Cards.”
Tan and Blanche nodded in understanding while Edward did not seem to care about that at all. The oldest member quickly arranged his deck and went back to flirt with a girl through the in-game communication system.
The thing is…he seemed to be talking with a different girl…

“So fast…!” Tan was enjoying himself on the deck. He let the wind pass through him and felt the ocean. Even though what he saw and felt was created by game developers, it was convincing enough to make players believe. It was like a whole world of its own, a place where people gathered from all walks of life to find excitement, explore things beyond imagination, and escape from the real world.
Nicki and Blanche followed him to the deck. Edward slowly made his way to the deck with the stamina of a level 3 player. He did not want to breathe fresh air or stuff. The reason he went there was that his girls were busy and had no time to have a chit-chat with him, so he had to find someone to flirt with among the group of female passengers on the ship. Of course, the ‘female passengers’ he referred to did not include Nicki from his party.
‘If you mess with the girl, you're doomed…’ He kept it in mind ever since the first time he attempted to hit on her.
“This is my first time exploring the ocean in this game.” Blanche walked towards Nicki and crossed his arms.
“It would be nice if it remains peaceful like this,” the girl said as she stared at the distance.
Tan suddenly turned to Nicki. “Woah…don’t jinx it.”
“We can’t avoid that. If we travel by ship, there is a 70% chance of encountering sea monsters a few times,” explained Nicki. “Nothing to worry about since we're all above level 60 now. Level 30 monsters are an easy task. If someone's going to die, it will be him.” Nicki pointed at Edward but was surprised because the sleepy dandy guy was not there anymore.
“He went over there to see a girl.” Tan pointed towards where Edward actually was. He gained back all his energy as soon as he found a girl.
“Can I kill that creep now?” Nicki shook her head.
“Good idea, I want to try my skills on a sea creature. Starting from level 30 monsters is appropriate for newbies like us,” Blanche said in a serious tone of voice. After that, the system reported the appearance of a sea monster, but it might not be what they expected. …
The galleon ship is now within the attack range of a sea monster in the Arian Ocean. Please prepare for a fight.
The system announced what they had expected. Tan, Nicki, and Blanche prepared their decks for the imminent battle while Edward quickly retreated to the rear.
The Arian Ocean monster has appeared…
The system made an announcement once more.
A level 197 sea dragon, Poseidon, has appeared. Players who are killed by Poseidon will lose 10 levels as well as cannot log in to the game for thirty minutes, and an 8-star or above card will be randomly destroyed.
“What?!” Tan exclaimed in alarm. Of course...everyone's reaction was the same when they expected to face level 30-40 monsters but instead, they encountered a level 197 sea dragon.
Nicki was shocked as well. Blanche and Edward were no different. “What the heck…!” Edward screamed. “It's the first time I'm out in the sea, and I'm greeted by a sea dragon?!”
“Give me a break…” Blanche muttered as he thought of the iron giant that attacked Caldia.
A few moments later, they were confronted by a gigantic creature like Giant Baron. Its size made it easy to swallow the entire ship in one bite. Tan did not have a Metamorphosis card this time, so it was almost impossible to defeat the monster.
A miracle did not always happen, that was why it was called a miracle…
“Nicki! Why don’t you tell me there’s a monster like this in the ocean!” Tan was soaked as the sea monster appeared with a shriek. Not only did the dragon shriek, but everyone on the ship screamed when they saw the monster, except...Edward, the millionaire from Caldia.

The dragon did not wait for them. Its fins on both ears wiggled as it shook its gigantic, triangle-shaped head. When it saw Tan and everyone else on the deck, the monster turned to the sky and roared, making the people on the deck tremble.
“Darn it! There’s nothing useful!” Tan roared as he sought a way out of this situation. Blanche equipped a 7-star shield while Nicki activated an 8-star Shining Black Spider Gun card that was created from Arachnid Metal she got from Tan. The Equip Cards were both high-level, yet compared to the enemy, they were just toys...
The sea dragon roared once again and swam towards the ship, attacking it with its wide-open mouth. All those aboard were damaged.

Player Tanthai has begun a continuous quest ‘Church of Birth’. When the player defeats Giant Baron, the ancient iron giant, the player will encounter the guidance of the sea—Poseidon, the sea dragon—which will guide them to the Sea God Church. The quest ends when the player defeats King Demigos, the guardian of the Sea God Church.
