章節 404: Chapter 404: Xue Wu Challenges Yu Xiaogang's Wishful Thinking

When Thunder Academy finally conceded, Shui Bing'er and Xue Wu immediately stopped the release of their fusion skill, "Snowfall." The icy energy receded from the arena.

This time, even Shui Bing'er was taken aback by the immense power of their fusion skill—it was far stronger than ever before. Was this the effect of her Ice Attribute Mastery?

Though unexpected, she wasn't too surprised. After all, she and Xue Wu's three-person fusion skill was even more potent.

"Yu Xiaogang," Shui Bing'er said with no hint of politeness, "don't place the blame on us. I asked Tang San earlier if he wanted to forfeit, and he refused. Isn't that his responsibility? You, as the coach, could have conceded at any time, yet you didn't. Now you're speaking up after the fact?"

Xue Wu added coolly, "Master Yu Xiaogang, you wouldn't happen to believe Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer could turn the tables, would you?"

"Yes, the Clear Sky Hammer is formidable, but with no spirit rings attached, did you honestly think it could overcome our fusion skill?"

The arena fell into a tense silence.

Su Ming glanced at Xue Wu. He hadn't expected such a composed and cold character in the original story to be so sharp-tongued.

Xue Wu's words weren't without truth. Su Ming shook his head—Yu Xiaogang was too naïve. Perhaps if Tang San had mastered the explosive ring technique, he might've broken free, but with just the basics of the Disorder Wind Hammer Method, it was hopeless.

Yu Xiaogang, stunned by Xue Wu's retort, found himself speechless. He'd truly believed that Tang San might have a trick up his sleeve.

However, this wasn't the time to dwell on it. He feared that if he didn't act quickly, Tang San could be in serious trouble.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to remain calm. "Tianshui Academy," he said, "since the match is over, perhaps you could remove the ice from our team?"

At this point, Tang San and his teammates were still frozen solid.

Feigning helplessness, Shui Bing'er replied, "Sorry, Yu Xiaogang, but you know how difficult it is to control such power. I'm doing well just to stop releasing it; I can't withdraw it now. But given that your team could heal Tang San and the others so quickly yesterday, I'm sure you'll manage." She gave him a look that implied she believed in his abilities, then led Xue Wu off the stage.

The claim of not being able to retract the ice was an obvious ruse; Shui Bing'er simply didn't want to. She was certain that with Yu Yuanzhen present, there was no real danger to Tang San's life.

Emperor Xue Ye, watching from above, chuckled instead of showing anger. Tianshui and Blazing Fire Academies had both performed outstandingly—what a joy it was for the empire to have such talent.

As for Tang San's fate, Emperor Xue Ye cared little. He was already being generous by not having Tang San arrested. The empire's struggles against the Star Luo Empire were due in part to the support of the Clear Sky Clan for Star Luo.

Back on stage, Yu Yuanzhen stormed off angrily, muttering, "Useless!" as he thumped the armrest and left.

Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang quickly called for the healer brought from the clan. The elder, upon inspecting the frozen contestants, grimaced, "I specialize in healing, not this kind of injury. You'll need to find a way to thaw them quickly, or they may suffer irreversible harm."

Yu Xiaogang, having no other choice, ordered Tang San and the others be moved to the infirmary, where a group effort would be required to gradually melt the ice.

Once defrosted, their faces were deathly pale, with no signs of consciousness.

The healer tried his best but sighed, "I advise against them participating in any more of the preliminaries. Unlike yesterday, this cold has invaded their internal systems. They need time to recover, or they risk long-term damage."

The match now over, Su Ming led Xiao Wu and the others away from the arena. Just as they left, they "happened" to cross paths with Tianshui and Blazing Fire Academies.

Before Su Ming could say a word, Shui Yue'er rushed over excitedly. "Su Ming! Did you see our match just now? Our fusion skill was amazing, right?" she exclaimed proudly, as though she'd been the one to cast it herself.

章節 405: Chapter 405: Su Ming on Qian Renxue’s Unexpected "Love Brain"

Su Ming nodded without hesitation, full of admiration. "Impressive. Based on what I know, this is the strongest martial soul fusion skill I've seen at the same level. I'd say that no one else's fusion can match yours—Fire Dance's fusion might not stand a chance either since fire is restrained by ice."

Hearing this, Fire Dance let out a huff. "Hey, Su Ming! What's that supposed to mean? Saying that right in front of me! Who's to say who would win? How do you know my fusion can't stand up to Shui Bing'er and Xue Wu's fusion?"

Though reluctant to admit it, Fire Dance also believed that Shui Bing'er's fusion skill might be stronger, but she wasn't ready to give up without a fight. After all, her own fire mastery was on par with Shui Bing'er's ice mastery.

Shui Yue'er chimed in playfully, "Haha! Our team can use a three-person martial soul fusion. A simple fusion is no big deal!" Su Ming sighed to himself, wondering if they really understood the difference between martial soul fusions and simple fusions. A martial soul fusion amplifies each soul master's strength to an extraordinary degree, whereas Fire Dance's strength mainly stems from her own abilities.

Clearing his throat, Su Ming decided not to pursue Fire Dance's argument further—only actions could truly prove a point. So, he shifted topics and smiled at Shui Yue'er, "Your progress is impressive too, Shui Yue'er. During our practice match, you were at level 41, and now you've reached 42. Good work!"

Shui Yue'er beamed with delight. "Hehe! My sister was right; as long as I keep leveling up, Su Ming notices me."

Just then, Shui Bing'er looked at Su Ming, curiosity evident. "Su Ming, do you think you'd be able to withstand Xue Wu's and my fusion skill?" Xue Wu looked equally interested, waiting eagerly for his response.

Su Ming gave a sly smile. "Well, that's something you'll have to guess."

Just then, a royal guard approached Su Ming respectfully. "Mr. Su Ming, the Crown Prince has summoned you."

Nodding slightly, Su Ming gestured for Xiao Wu and the others to head back to the academy, while he followed the guard toward the palace.

Inside the Crown Prince's Residence

As Su Ming entered, Qian Renxue had the door shut behind him and led him further inside, finally stopping in a private chamber.

"Qian Renxue, what's up?" Su Ming asked, smiling.

Qian Renxue looked at him, a touch of frustration in her eyes. "Su Ming, how could you say that? Think about it. How long has it been since you last visited me? Every time we meet, I have to be the one to summon you. Can't you take the initiative to visit me once in a while?"

Su Ming chuckled awkwardly. "Well, you are the Crown Prince, after all. I'm just an ordinary citizen—it wouldn't be appropriate for me to come to see you on my own."

Of course, this was just an excuse to placate Qian Renxue. He didn't mind visiting her, but without a valid reason, it was best to avoid drawing too much attention.

Qian Renxue saw through the excuse but chose not to push it. They couldn't meet too frequently, after all. She knew Su Ming's aloofness only added to her curiosity and interest. He'd once told her he only wanted to be friends, but to truly win Qian Renxue over, he knew he'd have to surpass her not just in power but also in wisdom.

He wanted to avoid following Tang San's path in the original story, where Qian Renxue both relentlessly pursued and inexplicably fell for him.

In comparison, Bibi Dong and Hu Liena's reasons for their feelings were easier to understand. Qian Renxue's attraction to Tang San, however, seemed inexplicably sudden—especially after he'd mortally wounded her. It was downright baffling.

Observing Qian Renxue's quiet resolve to wait for him, Su Ming asked, "So, Qian Renxue, what did you want to discuss with me?"

Qian Renxue nodded. "Recently, Ghost Douluo spotted Tang Hao. And, with Tang San possessing the Clear Sky Hammer martial soul, there's no doubt—Tang San is Tang Hao's son."

Su Ming wasn't surprised. The reappearance of the Clear Sky Hammer was bound to reach Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong's ears.

Qian Renxue continued, "Since Tang San has been targeting you, and with Tang Hao and Tang San being sworn enemies of Spirit Hall, this seems like the perfect chance. I wanted to discuss plans with you."

Su Ming casually asked, "So, you and Bibi Dong have decided to take action against Tang Hao and Tang San? When and where?"

Qian Renxue replied, "Yes, we're planning to make a move right after the qualification matches, when they travel to Spirit City."
