章節 13: VIXEN
A few days later, Vixen's apartment.
"Here we are", Manager Yoo said gesturing to the front door of the apartment rented by the company as Vixen's dormitory. She smiled at Nari and her aunt, Nari looked around the hallway, it was murder and neat. Vixen's apartment was the only inhabited apartment on the floor since the second apartment was unoccupied although it was also rented by the company.
She glanced at her aunt who stood next to her and based on her close observation was satisfied with the apartment. It was a high-rise apartment building with very good security. Although Hwang Eun-Hye didn't make it so obvious, she was impressed with the accommodation arranged by Memphis entertainment. It was modern and neat with CCTV cameras set up in the hallway.
Smiling Hwang Eun-Hye glanced at her niece before turning to the friendly manager that escorted them in. "Miss Yoo, is it okay for me to go in? I don't want to look like a helicopter mum, maybe I should get going".
"Oh no need to leave. You are Nari's guardian, it is okay if you go in and check everything out".
Hwang Eun-Hye smiled, "easy there I might take you up on that offer."
"That alright, Mrs Hwang. it is normal for guardians to check out their ward's living conditions. Anything to put you at ease".
"Okay, after you", Hwang Eun Hye replied nodding her head forward.
Manager Yoo nodded and stepped forward, she brought down the keypad and punched in the key code. The door opened with a click, "please Come in. Nari, I informed the girls that you were moving in today so they must be waiting for you." She rolled the box in and left it by the wall she opened the shoe cupboard and took out her slippers and two guest slippers. One of which was a purple fluffy rabbit slipper, she gave that to Nari.
"Yumi heard that your favourite colour was purple so she bought you this house slipper", Manager Yoo smiled.
Nari unsealed the transparent ziplock bag and took out the slipper, it felt so soft in her hands, "so cute", she dropped it on the ground, took off her sneakers and after putting them into the cupboard, put on the slippers.
Hwang Eun Hye looked down at the slippers, "Wow, your member is quite thoughtful. She even got you a gift, how sweet".
Nari smiled, she felt her cheek heat up but pretended otherwise. Grabbing both of her boxes in each hand, she rolled forward but stopped as a petite girl in white oversize wool pullover sweaters and black tights came forward to greet them.
"Hello, I am Yumi", she said bowing deeply with an audible sweet voice. She was the only one present in the apartment, Shin Chung-Ae left had a few scenes to film for NBC weekend drama and left the apartment at Daybreak. Park Sun-Hi went back home for her sister's memorial ceremony and the Maknae of the group was still in school. Only Yumi and Bitna were left but since Bitna had stepped out to buy some fruits and a grocery at the supermarket close by. She was left to welcome their new group mate and her aunt.
Yumi was curious about their new member, she rushed out as soon as she heard the door open. She was a little taken back as she saw Nari, her beautiful hazel-coloured eyes drew her in. 'wow, she is so pretty, Yumi thought as she shook hands with Nari and her aunt. She kept stealing discreet glances between Nari and her Aunt throughout their brief introduction. They both had similar features, but the similarities were not very obvious because of Nari's mixed genes.
However, both women her the same slim high bridge nose but Nati's was a little bit more pointed than her aunts. Nari's visuals were impeccable plus she was very tall which was a plus, Yumi applauded the CEO's visual taste for being quite superior. 'She might be pretty but the verdict is still out on her skills', Yumi thought watching her closely.
Yumi was not the only one watching her new group member, she had watched a few episodes of Finding Vixen so she knew all of the original members. However, she was a little taken aback by the sight of Yumi's cute chubby face. Yumi had bright big black eyes and long full lashes, a pointed chin and high cheekbones made her chubby cheeks more pronounced. These features when combined made her look youthful and cute, which made netizens and fans of the group call her, "cute dumpling".
Hwang Eun Hye did not stay long, after ensuring that Nari was in a safe environment, she left. Miss Yoo escorted her downstairs, leaving Nari and Yumi alone. Yumi smiled as Naru caught her eyes, she looked away. Her eyes fell on Nari's Suitcase by the wall.
She stood and walked to the boxes, Mari stood as she did and rushed forward to give her a hand. "let me show your to your room, Nari", they each took a box. "We are roommates since there are only four rooms in the apartment. We stay two in a room while Manager Yoo has a room to herself. Don't worry the rooms are very spacious, I decorated our room", she paused suddenly as if she had said something bad, "but you can make changes to suit yourself. Please make yourself comfortable, we are a team after all".
Yumi led her down the hallway and along the way she informed her of the living arrangements, specifying who stayed in which room.
"The room doors are painted with different colours, the first room with the red door and the sunflower door post is Sun-hi and Chung-ae. They are both child actresses and are very close, Sun-hi doesn't act as much though", She stop by the door and continued walking to the next door, which was painted Lime green, "This is Bitna and Mira's room, Bitna is out leader while Mira is the maknae".
Nari glanced at the door and nodded, "oh, that is good. I guess it is wise to pair the oldest with the youngest together, that way Bitna could watch out for her".
Yumi glanced at her and laughed softly, "Sure, that must be why that happened". She shook her head as she remembered the events that led to this 'wise decision'. She stopped at the last door in the hall that was directly opposite their manager's room door. Unlike the other room doors, this door was a plain brown door while the door opposite it was white. She turned the doorknob and opened the door, "This is our room, we were unlucky to get the door closest to the manager's room but it is not so bad since Unnie isn't so strict. She is pretty cool, you will understand once you get to know her".
She walked into the room and left the bag, she had wheeled in beside a well-made single bed at one end of the room. The bare walls and table were proof that it was yet to be occupied. "Isn't this room spacious?" She sat on her bed which was directly opposite Nari's bed, "What do you think of the room? Do you like the arrangement?"
Nari left her suitcase beside the small dressing table beside her single bed and leaning back on the chair, she looked around the room, the room was surprisingly arranged in a very minimalistic fashion. Yumi's half of the room was arranged in a very detailed manner. On first observation Yumi was the type that likes things to be orderly, lining the window at the head of the bed was two flower pots and a small caucus pot. Sweet flower scents filled the room. Looking at the beautiful flowers she smiled, "it is beautiful".
Yumi looked expectantly at Nari, the few seconds
delay got her worried but Nari's reply made her feel better. She had put a lot of effort into making the room as relaxing as she could. Everyone needs a relaxed environment, her smile widened, "I am glad you liked it. There are only two bathrooms in the dorm, it is not a problem now because we don't have any group schedule. Except for the occasional practice, which we haven't done in weeks due to everything going on but that will change soon.
"Once we become more active, we will figure out a system. I heard that most boy groups play games to decide on who baths first, it is usually rock, paper and scissors. Sun-Hi and Bitna are very competitive so we will have to pick a softer approach. However, since only a few of us have ongoing private schedules, we do need to do that. It is mostly Chung-ae and Sun-Hi, sometimes Bitna has a collaboration or two, she is a great rapper. Then there is Mira who is in her senior year of high school, we usually let Mira go first so that she won't be late and then the next person with the earliest schedule goes after her".
Nari brought up her bag and unzipped the bag, she began to unpack, "wow, that is so orderly. You all must get along well".
Yumi smiles, "As well as five girls in a shared apartment can", she turned to the door as she heard the alarm as the front door opened, followed by voices. "Manager Yoo and Bitna must be back. Bitna went grocery shopping, do you want to join me?"
"yes", Nari dropped the jacket into the clothes cupboard and followed her out. Manager Yoo placed a bag of Mandarin oranges on the table as the walked in. She looked up and smiled at them, "I ran into Bitna on my way in. Nari, I hope Yumi is helping you get settled?"
"Yes, she is. Thank you" she replied with a smile and looked up at the tall girl with the high ponytail and moon-shaped single eyelids with light brown eyes.
"Yumi is the best welcome wagon around here. She is good at making anyone comfortable", Bitna smiled, "Hello, sorry I wasn't here to welcome you. I stepped out for a bit, do you like yoghurt?"
"uh, yes I do. Hello!"
Bitna handed her a mini yoghurt cup and spoon, "Here, Yumi make people comfortable by talking but I like to bribe people."
Nari laughed softly and shook the cup of yoghurt, "I guess I am successfully bribed".
"Welcome to the group, Nari. Let's work hard together", She replied.
