章節 36: Chapter 35 - Part 2

Toshiro cleared his throat, "Moving on. During the Treaty, it was decided that if one of the Great Houses became incapable of continuing, the Otsutsuki House would replace them. So currently, Asura Otsutsuki is the Leader of the Eighth Great House."

"I see…still doesn't explain this?"

"The point is, while many left, and with Aizen, Gin's and Tosen's betrayal. Soul Society might look weaker, but it isn't. It could be said that there is clarity about Soul Society's Future. It's also because Soul Society can spare a few Captains and Lieutenants. We are here to make a Team liason of a kind. We can't be sure where Aizen is or if he will care about Karma and not find a loophole."

"He'll do all of that," Jay chuckled, "He'll do all of that, so you are right. You are here to make the team and keep an eye on the changes."

"Wait…spare a few people? Don't we only have to come here once every midnight?"

"You didn't read the guide properly, did you," Jay looked at his wife, narrowing his eyes, "I told you to read it."

"I…shut up," Tsunade looked away.

"Well, it says that staying here for a weak will leave most weakened. It is suggested that we rest the whole day," Jay shrugged, "Only a few monsters will be able to make it out ok. Like Naruto, and Kenpachi, Ichigo."

"Both of you as well," Toshiro nodded, "There might be more such monsters. But that is not what's important. What's important is that Central 46 has decided that you, Tsunade Senju, will be the most appropriate leader for our team."

"Oh," Tsunade nodded, "Wait, what? Come again? Did you say Central 46?"

"Yes!" Rangiku jumped on Tsunade, hugging her head, "It seems Tsuande-chan's integrity impressed the whole of New Central 46. They agreed that with the people who left, those who stayed from your world, and the tension in Soul Society, you could be one of the Fair Team Leaders the Eight Great Houses and Central 46 can accept."

"But I left!"

"Right, but everyone knows you and your husband are neutral parties. So, you were chosen."

"Wait, why wasn't I chosen?"

"Really, you have to ask," Tsunade shot a look at him.

"Yes, I would make a good team leader, too," Jay blinked, "Won't I?"

"You are lazy," Rangiku shrugged.

"You pawn off your work to your subordinates," Toshiro nodded.

"You are very suspicious," Ikkaku finally got rid of the restraints and sat down, rubbing his bald head, "No one trusts you."

"You actually enjoy playing games with Aizen…so that's a big negative," Rukia muttered, almost looking a bit ashamed that she had to speak against him.

"Oh, oh, I have one!" Nawaki raised his hand.

"No need," Tsunade pulled down his hand.

"Ouch, to all those," Jay puffed his cheeks, sulking, "You are all the worst!"

"On that note," He hugged Tsunade, "I am not giving you my wife."

"Stop making trouble," Rangiku pulled him away, "So…Tsunade? What are you going to do."

She pulled Shinigami Pieces out of her cleavage, dropping them in front of her, stopping at the King Piece, putting it down in front of her, "Will you, Lead us?"

"Um…ah," She bit her lip, looking at her younger brother. When they first appeared in Soul Society, and she found him, she wanted to hover over him, but she had to let go, let him be free. Now, the world changed again, and it was Jay's doing, in ways. She was scared…and wanted to keep him close, and this was her chance to keep him close.

She looked over to Jay, noticing his eyes on her, and smiled, "No."

"No?" Jay was a bit surprised, and he wasn't the only one.

"Can you tell us the problem? Because this is what Central 46 and the Great House decided. You can't exactly refuse," Toshiro furrowed his brows, troubled, "Just tell us your reason."

"Yeah, wait a moment," Jay took Tsunade's hand, "Come with me, sweetheart. We need to talk. This is to be continued."

"It's a big decision; take your time."

Jay pulled her through the crowd, stepping into the living room before taking the stairs to the second floor and their room. He raised his fingers, sealing the doors, windows, and area around them to ensure no one could hear them.

"I was sure you would jump to that offer. Why would you say no?"

"Because of…Dan…and you," Tsunade sat down on the bed. She didn't want to struggle, making excuses. She knew better than anyone else that it wouldn't matter to him—not in his current condition.

"Care to…elaborate," Jay confusedly asked.

"Well, Dan is in the team, and I can't be the Captain of that team, but I can't say it's because of Dan. So the best way is to say no," Tsunade lay down on the bed.

"Um…so where do I come in this equation?"

"Because I can't be in a team with Dan because of you. In Division 4, there were already a lot of talks, but I was most at your Division, so it didn't matter. Doing it again would change things."

"I don't care about him and you," Jay jumped on the bed, lying beside her. While she lay on her back, he did on his stomach, looking into her eyes.

"Yes, dear. You remind me that every day," Tsunade bit his lip, "Frankly, it's getting tiring."

"And you make decisions like these, making me think I should remind you more."

"Look, Jay," Tsunade turned to face him, placing her hand on his waist, "Whatever you did…might have changed things a bit, and people. Men, women or old, don't care about sex but have you noticed? It's just sex. If it's straightforward, then it's ok. But cheating is a bit different. People care about those. Or betrayal or enemies. Even little things like having a bad aura put people off. Do you understand what that means?"

"No?"

"Those people would care about you and your reputation," Tsunade stroked his hair, "For you…it might not matter much. For you…this time might be a blink of an eye…or a sleep, and you might not care about these things. But others do. Didn't you notice the awkward atmosphere in the room and the nervousness on Dan's face? He expects…and others think I may leave you and be with him. It's not about sex…it's about love. And that's vastly different."

Jay breathed out, putting his hand behind his head, looking at the roof, "Hah, I still wouldn't care about it."

Tsunade chuckled as she inched closer, leaning on him, stroking his cheek, looking into his eyes, "That's a lie. Even though Jun and Guren left, that doesn't mean the burden on you increased. They took that part of the burden with them. You…still have a few emotions…and for when you have them. I'll never hurt them. Not if I can help it."

"Tsunade," Jay softly whispered her name.

"I love you, Jay," Tsunade closed her eyes, "No matter what changes…I will love you. And you are my husband. I will never…let my husband be disrespected. You understand?"

"I don't deserve you."

"Now you are just saying it."
