Jinn blinks and the press room's flashing camera lights disappear. 

Feng Mian sits upon a leather seat, kimono splayed elegantly around her legs. A car made more for sleekly driving through a war zone with missiles hurtling at it than transporting a little girl towers powerfully around Feng Mian's body. 

"We're sending you to Eastville," Feng Mian's mother pats Feng Mian's head compassionately.

Caught unawares by the sound, Jinn looks back. There are reporters snapping photos a few meters away. 

"You'll learn a lot there," her father continues. "Make the best of your time. We will accept nothing but excellence."

"Mother. Father." Feng Mian responds dully. 

The car rolls away and Feng Mian falls asleep as its smooth movement lulls her from side to side.
